    Rugby League side Hull KR has declared a "major incident" after a stadium floodlight pylon fell during high winds.

    Images shared with a French rugby league website show the lights and pylon on the pitch at Craven Park.

    In a statement, the Super League side said no-one was injured and the stadium has been evacuated safely.

    The stadium will remain closed until further notice, with testing set to take place on the other floodlights, a club spokesperson said.

    A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after he was attacked in Doncaster on Monday.

    South Yorkshire Police say they're treating the "prolonged assault", which happened between 21:00 and 23:00 at a house on in Rockliffe Avenue in Balby, as attempted murder.

    The 16-year-old was attacked and left with life-threatening injuries and is still in a critical condition in hospital.

    Officer now want anyone who saw or heard anything on the night to get in contact with them.

    Traders in Hull have been supporting "NoVanber" - a campaign to crackdown on thefts from vans.

    They are lending their support to a national petition, which hopes to get the government to examine the issue.

    The campaign wants to strengthen laws on vehicle theft and for more to be done about the market for stolen goods.

    Paul Matson, who founded the charity Hull 4 Heroes to renovate homes for veterans, says vans are easy targets for thieves.

    The conservatory specialist said: "Help us out, help us stop this epidemic - let's stop it together."

    Hundreds of people came to Derby Cathedral for a memorial service for Hayley Kalinins today.

    Hayley, wife of former Derby County fitness coach Andy Kalininis, died earlier this year after being diagnosed with cancer seven years ago.

    Two elderly people have been the victim of a knifepoint robber in Rotherham.

    An 85-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man say a caller at a house on Mansfield Road in Aston made threats with a knife but left empty-handed.

    The would-be robber pushed the woman and she had to lock herself in her kitchen during the attack on Tuesday.

    Police are keen to hear from any witnesses, in particular two people who were at a bus stop across the road near Florence Street.

    Restrictions have been lifted on the Humber Bridge after it was closed to high-sided and "vulnerable" vehicles due to strong winds.

    Traffic will be restricted around one of York's historic bars from next month in order to protect the city walls.

    Drivers will no longer be able to get out of the city by passing under Micklegate Bar, when the change comes in on 10 December.

    The council hopes the traffic prevent order, which will initially last for 18 months but could become permanent, will also encourage more people to shop on the street.

    A special "winter ward" is to open in Hull to deal with patients admitted with norovirus and the flu.

    The 27-bed hospital ward will treat people from next month, as part of an effort to deal with the "pressures of winter".

    An extra £20m of government funding has gone towards helping with winter preparations in the region.

    At Goole and District Hospital, a new mobile theatre will let an additional 720 patients be treated.

    While patients in York will be able to attend additional outpatient respiratory clinics.

    A search is on for these two men after a pensioner was robbed in Bradford city centre.

    Police say they want to speak to them as they may be able to help.

    The robbery happened at about 09:50 on 8 November as the man, in his 70s, was walking along Kirkgate.

    He was pushed to the floor from behind and had his wallet taken from his shopping trolley.

    North Yorkshire Police are appealing for help identifying the man after an incident of "outraging public decency" on a First York bus at about 20:10 on 22 September.

    The appeal does not relate to a case of a "fat, naked man" who exposed himself in front of a student in the city and is still being hunted by police.

    A Rotherham police officer who saved a man's life after stopping to give him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation in the street has been nominated for an award.

    PC Nicole Palmowski was on duty in Maltby in April when she saw Jim Brogan unresponsive on the pavement.

    The 67-year-old had collapsed against a wall while out running.

    The officer went to help and performed CPR - with the speed of her actions credited with saving Jim's life.

    She has been nominated for a Royal Humane Society Award.

    The union behind strikes on Northern trains has offered to call off this Saturday's strike if it gets assurances on the future role of guards.

    The RMT says it's prepared to hold talks at ACAS provided it's guaranteed that no services will run without a second person on board.

    It's given Northern until midday tomorrow (Friday) to respond.

    The union has held Saturday strikes at Northern since the end of August, a pattern it has previously said will continue until the end of the year.

    A Hull MP joked in parliament that she had received the title of "backbencher of the year" because she was a "bloody difficult woman".

    Diana Johnson received the honour from the Political Studies Association after her campaigning for the victims of the NHS contaminated blood scandal.

    She was presented with the award by the Commons Speaker John Bercow who described it as "a recognition of her extraordinary diligent and effective parliamentary campaigning".

    In her reply, the Labour MP for Hull North made reference to the term "bloody difficult woman," a phrase previously used about Theresa May.

    Live fish and a grass wall are to form the front of a new a cafe in Scarborough.

    Plans have been approved for the Japanese-themed café with a fish tank built into the front of the building on Westborough.

    The planning statement says: "The main external alteration is to replace the existing shop front and wall above with a living wall.

    "A 'fish window' is proposed to be inserted into the living wall."

    It's planned for the tank to protrude both inside and outside of the building and to also act as a window.

    The BBC has revealed three Yorkshire cities will be hosting another Christmas premiere with a showing of hit comedy Mrs Brown's Boys.

    The screenings will take place in Sheffield on 16 December, in Bradford on the 17th and in York on 23 December..

    Earlier this week, it was announced the cities would be hosting premieres of Zog and The Midnight Gang.

    A peaceful protest has taken place at the Huddersfield school where a 15-year-old Syrian refugee was attacked.

    Footage circulated online showed the boy being pushed to the ground at Almondbury Community School, a 16-year-old is to be charged with assault.

    Further video of a separate incident allegedly shows the boy's sister being attacked by other pupils.

    An online fundraising appeal has so far raised almost £132,000 for the family of the boy.

    Homes, holiday chalets and caravans in Withernsea could be protected from coastal erosion by new defences costing about £5m.

    East Riding Council has bid for money to extend the town's "rock armour" defences to protect 110 properties, 230 holiday chalets and 75 static caravans.

    The bid comes after Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry visited the town to see the effect of coastal erosion.
