    Courteeners, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers and Manic Street Preachers are just some of the big name acts set to play Sheffield's Tramlines music this year.

    The announcement comes ahead of the 11th festival which will take place at Hillsborough Park between Friday 19 and Sunday 21 July.

    Other acts include Two Door Cinema Club, Rag 'n' Bone Man and Doves.

    The three-day festival attracts more than 30,000 people to the city each summer.

    A "danger" platform at Marsden Station is to be heightened and extended following a direct complaint to Transport Secretary Chris Grayling.

    Passengers currently face an 18-inch step down from train carriages to the platform.

    Mr Grayling and and Rail Minister Andrew Jones were lobbied in December by Colne Valley MP Thelma Walker and local councillors.

    It was reported how one child had landed face-down after failing to negotiate the height difference.

    The problem will be solved by the installation of a temporary graded slope known as a "Harrington Hump".

    Councillor Donna Bellamy said: "It's fantastic news. I've been calling it 'the leap of faith'."

    Work is set to get under way by the end of February.

    Thanks to Patrick Tighe who used a drone to take this cracking picture of the Humber Bridge.

    He snapped the tip of the 2.2 kilometre span across the estuary at about 08:30.

    Sadly for the rest of us down on earth, it's been a cold and grey day in the city.

    Both the fire service and police were called when a building containing a cannabis farm went up in flames.

    It seems that the cannabis plants, however, escaped the fire - thus saving local residents from breathing in the resultant smoke...:

    For anyone wondering if they really did see a vintage bus on the back of a low loader, it's because the Oxford Bus Museum is sending one of its exhibits to Yorkshire for a paint job.

    The 1961 Dennis Loline II (304 KFC) is off to Selby, where it will have its front end straightened and get a complete repaint, its first in more than 20 years.

    Museum trustee Chris Butterfield said: "Although the Loline is in running order, 180 miles is a long way for a bus almost 60 years old and the trustees decided it was safer to send it on a low loader."

    A 28-year-old man from Hull is being hunted by police in connection with three assaults in the city.

    Officers have released a photograph of Lewis Patterson, who they also want to speak to about failing to appear at court.

    A new scanner to improve diagnosis for children with epilepsy has been unveiled in Sheffield.

    The £800,000 device at Sheffield Children's Hospital can help pinpoint the precise location of abnormal brain signals, leading to earlier treatment.

    The room housing the machine features special "star field" artwork to make patients feel more relaxed.

    A group of robbers crashed into a wall after stealing cash from a van in Ripponden.

    The men approached a transit van on Waterhouse Street at about 10:50.

    After they threatened the driver and made off with a cash box, their vehicle crashed into a wall on Oldham Road.

    Four men have since been arrested, according to police.

    Marks and Spencer bosses are due to meet Hull City Council next week to discuss plans for the new Albion Square development, an MP has confirmed.

    The Marks and Spencer store on Hull's Whitefriargate has been earmarked for potential closure but there's a possibility it could be relocated to somewhere else in the city.

    It is hoped the planned Albion Square development will "regenerate" Hull city centre and it is said to be worth £130m to the local economy.

    In the meantime, Hull North MP Diana Johnson is also calling for Marks and Spencer's to open one of its Simply Food outlets in an empty unit at the city's Paragon Interchange.

    More than 1,000 homes are to be built as part of a new residential space in Leeds city centre.

    What's being called Leeds City Village will be constructed on the former Marsh Lane Goods Yard.

    The site is where the city's first railway station was located in 1834 and it now forms part of the city council's development of the Kirkgate district.

    A spokesperson for developer Gold & Amber said: "We have opened up early discussions with the City Council and plan to make further announcements on the plans early this year, following discussions with local stakeholders and community groups, prior to the expected submission of a planning application for this hugely significant development in the spring."

    Yorkshire TV personality Linda Barker has opened an East Yorkshire homelessness charity's new shop in Hull city centre.

    The former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! contestant, who's originally from Bradford, cut a blue ribbon outside Emmaus Hull and East Riding's new store on Whitefriargate.

    The charity recently closed another shop on the same street after it was targeted by thieves.

    It's moved to new premises for a "fresh start", with TV presenter invited to the grand opening.

    The new additions include Royal Blood (pictured), Charli XCX, CHVRCHES, Lil Uzi Vert, Enter Shikari, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, and You Me At Six.

    Already announced are headliners The 1975, Post Malone, Twenty One Pilots and Foo Fighters.

    It takes place at Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park on 23 – 25 August.

    Stagecoach's tram-train service in Sheffield and Rotherham is still suspended because of problems with the overhead cables and power supplies.

    The 35-year-old was last seen about 18:00 in Halton.

    He is described as being 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and was wearing a black Adidas hoodie and navy jeans.

    Det Insp Phil Jackson said: "We are concerned for Darren’s welfare and we urgently need to find him and check that he is okay."

    Anyone with information about his whereabouts is being asked to contact police.

    Steve Bruce has been officially unveiled as the new Sheffield Wednesday manager.

    The manager has won promotion to the Premier League four times as a manager.

    The 58-year-old was appointed manager at the start of the year, but there was an agreement that he wouldn't take charge until 1 February.

    Previous boss Jos Luhukay was dismissed by Wednesday on 21 December after less than a year in charge.

    Police divers have been called in to help in the search for a missing Roma-Slovak woman from Rotherham.

    They've been searching the canal, many parts of which are frozen, in the Parkgate area of the town this lunch time.

    Police say when she went missing she was wearing a thin black sweatshirt with writing on it which said something similar to "little black sweat".

    She was also wearing black tracksuit bottoms with white on the side and possibly sandals.

    She wasn’t wearing a coat.
