    Items thought to be worth about £200,000 have been seized by police following a burglary in East Yorkshire last year.

    It comes after a burglary in Anlaby in 2018 at a house where items were stolen.

    Jewellery, cash and computers were seized by Humberside Police when warrants were carried out at shops on Newland Avenue and Holderness Road in Hull and at a house in Hedon yesterday.

    Two people, a 60-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman, have been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

    The towns and cities which will host the prestigious Tour de Yorkshire next year have just been announced.

    The following locations will either host a start or finish during the 2020 race:

    • Barnsley
    • Beverley
    • Halifax
    • Huddersfield
    • Leeds
    • Leyburn
    • Redcar
    • Skipton

    More details will be announced in January about which places will play host to the race starts and which will host the finishes.

    The race, which will be in its sixth year, will take place between Thursday 30 April and Sunday 3 May, organisers say.

    A West Yorkshire drag queen made it into the final of the first series of the BBC's Drag Race UK.

    Hosted by American drag queen RuPaul, it is the UK version of the already-popular US drag race show.

    Fighting it out for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to Hollywood to create a digital series, Brighouse queen Divina De Campo was runner-up.

    The 35-year-old was alongside eventual winner The Vivienne, locked in a lip-sync battle which sealed her fate.

    It is the most popular BBC Three entertainment programme since the channel moved online in 2016, with a second series now being planned.

    A BBC TV sitcom which is based in Scarborough and stars Jason Manford and Catherine Tyldesley won't get a second series, it's been confirmed.

    Writer Derren Litten said the news had left those involved in the series "extremely disappointed".

    The show, which takes place in the North Yorkshire town, follows the lives of residents who are bonded by family, friendship and a love of karaoke.

    Writing on Twitter, Mr Litten thanked fans for "their wonderful support".

    Four of the major political party leaders are heading to South Yorkshire ahead of this evening's BBC Question Time leaders special.

    Campaigners trying to save a landmark mural in Hull have welcomed a decision to give it Grade II-listed status.

    The Three Ships is on the old BHS building, which is due to be demolished. There were hopes it would be preserved, but last month Hull City Council said it contained asbestos.

    The Historic England listing means the council will have to apply for listed building consent before any work can take place.

    The mosaic, by artist Alan Boyson, was created in 1963 as part of a new department store.

    It comprises almost a million pieces of Italian glass on a 66ft by 64ft concrete screen and depicts three stylised trawlers spelling out Hull with their masts.

    The announcement comes a week after both Scarborough and Harrogate ruled themselves out of hosting part of the race.

    Earlier this year, the event attracted a record 28 million viewers and it's thought to have brought in nearly £60m to the local economy.

    CCTV images of 15 people have been released by police following disorder at Leeds United's game with Birmingham City last month.

    A total of 10 arrests were made on the day of the match after disorder broke out both inside and outside Elland Road stadium on 19 October.

    Two men from Leeds were subsequently charged, with four men from Birmingham and Lincolnshire given community orders.

    Police say the 15 men pictured are "clearly identifiable" and are asking anyone who recognises any of them to get in touch.

    A road remains closed in Castleford this morning as part of an ongoing police "incident".

    Barnsdale Road remains closed and emergency services are in attendance at a nearby boat on the canal, just off Lock Lane.

    Armed police are helping with the incident, which involves a man on a boat making threats, according to West Yorkshire Police.

    The incident started yesterday morning and police say "there is no wider threat to the public".

    A woman from Lincolnshire is calling for a ban on flares at music events after one was thrown at her at a Liam Gallagher concert at a Sheffield venue.

    Stacey Andrew, 27, from Boston, says she's scarred for life after suffering burns to her arm, head and chest at the gig at the FlyDSA Arena on Monday.

    Sheffield International Venues, the company which runs the arena, says it's very difficult to detect flares because they are made of cardboard and is now reviewing security there.

    Liam Gallagher tweeted earlier to say "it's not cool" for people to be using flares at his gigs.

    A man has been arrested after a collision in East Yorkshire in which the car he was driving hit a parked car, causing it to come to rest on top of another.

    The incident happened at 14:45 this afternoon on Grovehill Road in Beverley when a black BMW collided with a parked car.

    No injuries have been reported and the driver of the BMW fled the scene.

    A man has since been arrested near Beckside on suspicion of a number of driving offences, including driving while under the influence of drink or drugs and money laundering offences.

    Drivers are advised to avoid the Grovehill Road area as emergency services are attempting to safely recover the vehicles involved and there is likely to be travel disruption.
