The woman was standing at the bus stop on Low Ousegate near to a Tesco Express store on Wednesday, 8 July at about 18:00, when the incident occurred.

The woman says a man approached her and touched and spoke to her in an inappropriate manner.

Police say she managed to removed herself from the situation unharmed, but "was left very shaken."

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

They are particularly keen for a woman who was waiting at the bus stop at the same time, to get in touch.

Plans to build a network connecting the centre of Leeds to its suburbs, as well as Bradford, Dewsbury and Castleford were first discussed last year.

The system may take the form of a tram, light rail or rapid bus network, though if built it’s unlikely to be up and running before 2033.

Purse-string holders at the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, which oversees transport in the region, announced the extra money on Wednesday.

They say it will help support an assessment of the route options at their disposal, as well as an analysis of what mode of transport may be best.

Under the current provisional proposal, one line would serve Holbeck, Armley, Bramley and Pudsey before heading into Bradford and North Kirklees, ending at Dewsbury.

Line two would link Leeds Dock, Temple Green, Tingley, Woodlesford and Castleford.

A third route would connect appears to go through Leeds Station to Leeds Arena, St James’ Hospital, Harehills, Seacroft and on to Thorpe Park.

Currently, bus lanes are only enforced during peak times, but Hull City Council has said it is extending enforcement periods from next week.

From Monday, motorists won't be allowed to drive in the lanes between 07:00 and 18:30 on every day apart from Sunday.

The trial is being brought in to try and encourage more people to cycle and use public transport.

But the petition says dedicated cycle lanes should be created on pavements, rather than using road space.

It added that with cars "sat in traffic" because drivers can't use the bus lanes, emissions will increase, which would be bad for the environment.

The current exemptions for vehicles like taxis and motorbikes will remain the same.

Officers conducted warrants across the city today in relation to cannabis production and supply, West Yorkshire Police said.

A "significant amount" of drugs and cash were recovered following the six raids.

Sweets infused with the drug were also found, police added.

Parents and teenagers are being urged to be vigilant and if they see anything specific to contact the police.

Insp Kerry Feathers of West Yorkshire Police said: “The intelligence led investigation we conducted today and ultimately led us to recovering a significant amount of drugs.

"Perhaps even more concerning is the recovery of equipment used to produce sweets laced with drugs, which, as with all illegal drugs are potentially dangerous, particularly if taken by children."

She added: “The end product of the production operation we discovered and dismantled today is highly professional and they would easily be mistaken for normal sweets.

“We want to warn teenagers and parents of the dangers of taking laced ‘Nerd Rope’. It may look like a sweet but taking it could be dangerous and is also illegal."

Growbags, fertiliser and plant pots that would have been used by criminals have been seized by police during warrants in Sheffield and Barnsley.

The equipment has been donated to projects that create community gardens across the county.

PC Liam Stewart, from South Yorkshire Police, said: “When we go into properties that have been used for significant cannabis set-ups, there are often huge quantities of soil, canes, plant pots, growbags and tools waiting to be used.

“Unfortunately, a lot of this equipment ends up in landfill, so we decided to work out a way we could repurpose or recycle at least some of it.

“We’ve donated equipment to some great people in the Hoyland area of Barnsley who run a fantastic community garden, it’s a place that is so well loved by local people and run entirely by volunteers.

“We also dropped off a van load of kit to a wonderful allotment community hub in Sheffield, they are currently growing food for food banks and also donating flowers and plants."
