People who work in the hospitality and tourism sectors in Bradford are being offered grants of up to £1,500 to help them re-open.
The easing of restrictions means that shops, pubs, bars and restaurants can now start serving food and drink outdoors.
That means many have had to invest in extra seating, tables and heaters.
Bradford's council has already extended pavements to help businesses and now they can apply online for this new Outdoor Trading Grant.
People are being asked to look out for each other and only call 999 in an emergency on the first weekend since restrictions started to ease for hospitality.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) said it had received a spike in calls since Monday, with extra pressure on the service from 15:00 each day.
An increase in assaults and other alcohol-related incidents were recorded, it added.
Nick Smith, from YAS, asked the public to use the service wisely and said unnecessary calls could delay responses to those patients most in need of emergency help.
He said: “We don’t want to spoil people’s enjoyment in being able to meet with family and friends outside after a long period of being confined to home, but we are appealing to people to look after each other and behave responsibly."
Up to 3,000 calls a day are made to the ambulance service, increasing as restrictions start to ease across the country.
Mr Smith added: “If someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk, you should call 999 immediately. If not, please consider other options such as 111, nhs.uk, your GP or pharmacy.”

The former home of Kays Catalogue in Leeds could be converted into a clinical research unit under plans submitted to the city council.
Built in the 1950s, US firm Covance by Labcorp wants to renovate parts of the Drapers Yard site in Sweet Street to use for clinical trials, while other buildings on the site would demolished.
The company currently has two sites in Leeds – at Hyde Street and Wellington Street – but it is believed it wants to move to Drapers Yard to increase bed capacity.
The building has stood empty since 2004 when Kays merged with Littlewoods to become Shop Direct, which later re-branded as Very.
A decision on the plan, external is expected to take place in the coming months.
The North Yorkshire site where a rare Roman villa was unearthed has been damaged in a break-in.
The remains of the large "stately home" and bath house were found on a site in Eastfield in Scarborough.
Historic England said the type of layout has "never been seen in Britain" and may be the first example "within the whole former Roman Empire".
Overnight into Thursday 15 April, fencing at the site and the land itself was damaged during a break-in.
North Yorkshire Police say they do not know if anything was stolen from the site but are investigating.
