    Their pictures show roads across Yorkshire deserted - with millions of people staying at home to watch the national side's first final in a major tournament for 55 years.

    The empty roads didn't last for long with England losing on penalties a couple of hours after these photos were taken.

    West Yorkshire Police have named a man who died following a crash between a bus and a car near Halifax last week.

    Travis Smith, 20, from Halifax was killed after a black Audi A3 he was in collided with a double decker bus.

    Officers are continuing to investigate the crash which took place at around 19:35 on 7 July on Godley Lane in the Stump Cross area.

    Det Sgt Fiona Allan said: “This has been a dreadful incident in which a young man has lost his life and specialist officers have been working with his family to support them.

    “In particular we would really like to speak to persons who have commented on social media about witnessing the collision but have not yet spoken with us.

    “Your information could be really important so please get in touch.

    “Anyone who has information or dash cam footage that may assist with enquiries is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101 referencing police log 1566 of July 7.”

  3. Wakefield: PC and pedestrians injured in police van crashpublished at 09:45 British Summer Time 12 July 2021

    A police officer and two other pedestrians have been seriously injured after a car crashed into a parked police van.

    It happened at about 01:25 on Sunday on Westgate in Wakefield when a Renault Megane hit the police vehicle.

    All three were taken to hospital in a serious condition, with the driver suffering minor injuries.

    A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

    She's also being held on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen of breath.

    The crash has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as it involved a police vehicle, West Yorkshire Police said.

    A woman was killed when the car she was driving crashed off the road in Lincolnshire.

    Lincolnshire Police said officers discovered the woman's body inside an overturned red Citroen C4 in a drain at the side of Station Road, near Eastville on Sunday.

    The force said it is believed the car was travelling from Friskney to Stickney when the crash happened at about 09:00.

    Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

    A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with two stabbings in Rotherham town centre.

    The first attack happened on Wednesday when a 30-year-old man was wounded on High Street at about 16:50 BST.

    A 39-year-old man was stabbed at about 11:15 the following day on Spring Walk. Both men are still in hospital in a serious condition.

    The 16-year-old has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent and is due before magistrates later.

    Two other teenagers arrested, aged 16 and 17, have been bailed pending further enquiries, South Yorkshire Police said.
