    The wagon lost its contents on the A170 at Sutton Bank earlier today.

    The road is open, but there are long delays as traffic negotiates the mound of meat.

    Drivers are being urged to find alternative routes to their destinations if at all possible.

    Retail staff in Wakefield are being offered body-worn cameras as part of a project aimed at cutting abuse to shop staff.

    The scheme, run by Wakefield BID and supported by West Yorkshire Police, is due to run until the end of the year.

    Sgt Matt Jackson said they were seeing the emergence of more assaults, both verbal and physical, on retail workers.

    He added: "What may start out as a shoplifting offence is escalating and turning into public order or assault offences, with a number of these also being racially-motivated.

    “It is simply not acceptable for anyone to be subjected to this kind of behaviour in their workplace.

    "We hope these body cams will act as a deterrent but, if incidents do continue to occur, then footage captured by these cameras will assist us in building up evidence to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

    Christine Armstrong, director of Wakefield BID, said: “We want Wakefield to be a great place to do business and are really concerned at what we are hearing from the police and our members about the abuse that some retail staff have been subjected to.”

    The panel that holds North Yorkshire's Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner to account has unanimously recorded a vote of no confidence in him.

    The vote was held at a virtual public meeting this morning in which Philip Allott faced repeated calls to resign over comments he made nearly two weeks ago on BBC Radio York.

    Mr Allott said women need to be "more streetwise" in the wake of the Sarah Everard murder case.

    The commissioner has since apologised for the remarks, but has refused to resign.

    In a letter, staff who work for Mr Allott have also said they had no confidence in him and earlier this week senior North Yorkshire MP and former cabinet minister Julian Smith said in a tweet the commissioner "should go."

    Speaking at this morning's meeting, Mr Allott made his first public apology to the Everard family for his comments, but said now was not the time to resign over his words.

    A man who exposed himself then urinated in a city street before cycling off is being hunted by police.

    The man, described as white and of medium build, was spotted on Water Lane in York at 19:15 on Saturday 10 October.

    North Yorkshire Police say he was wearing a dark jacket at the time.

    A spokesperson said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. In particular, we are appealing to anyone that may have seen the man and may be able to identify him to get in touch."

    A Samaritans volunteer who is walking to every branch of the charity in the UK and Ireland is nearing the end of his challenge - raising more than £17,000 in the process.

    David Matthews set off on his 6,000-mile (9,656km) trek in April 2019, and is now on the home straight, expecting to finish in Doncaster on 30 October.

    He is originally from the South Yorkshire town, but moved to Knoydart on the west coast of Scotland in 2014.

    The final stretch of the walk will take him to the Lincoln, Derby, Mansfield and Chesterfield, Rotherham and Sheffield Samaritans branches - continuing his tradition of putting a shift in at each one.

    Mr Matthews tweeted, external: "The finish of The Listening Walk. Sir Nigel Gresley Square, Doncaster. Around 1.30pm onwards. Everyone welcome!"

    Three people have been charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in Bradford at the weekend.

    Kian Tordoff, 19, died after he was found with stab wounds by police on John Street on Sunday morning.

    Arbaz Khan, 21, Aizaz Khan, 26, both of Yew Tree Avenue, and a 16-year-old boy have been charged with murder.

    They have also been charged with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of another 19-year-old in the same incident.

    All three are due to appear before magistrates in Bradford later today.

    East Park in Hull and Baysgarth Park in Barton-upon-Humber are among a number of green spaces to have received a Green Flag Award by Keep Britain Tidy.

    The environmental charity says more than 2,000 parks across the UK have been given the accolade and it's testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams that look after them.

    Hull's Pearson park, Scunthorpe's Central Park, Kingsway Gardens, Sheffield Park and Woodlands Memorial Park and Crematorium were also given the accolade.

    The Rainbow Garden in north Hull won a community award (pictured above).
