That concludes our live coverage of the sentencing of Agnieszka Kalinowska and Andrzej Latoszewski.
Thank you for joining us.
Mrs Justice Lambert imposed 39-year minimum terms on Agnieszka Kalinowska and Andrzej Latoszewski for the murder of 15-year-old Sebastian Kalinowski.
It was the first time a sentencing has been broadcast live from a court outside of London.
Reacting to the sentencing Daniel Lee, from the CPS, said: "Latoszewski and Kalinowska have both received life sentences. They will both serve a minimum of 39 years in prison.
"Rather than loving and protecting Sebastian, they inflicted a prolonged and sadistic campaign of physical and mental abuse on him. After months of barbaric treatment, Sebastian died from the many injuries they inflicted.
"Our thoughts remain with Sebastian’s wider family and friends. We sincerely hope that the sentences handed down today will bring them some comfort."
The sentencing of Agnieszka Kalinowska and Andrzej Latoszewski for the murder of 15-year-old Sebastian Kalinowski at Leeds Crown Court was only the third in England to be broadcast live and the first outside of London. The hearing has now finished. Here's a re-cap of what happened:
Agnieszka Kalinowska, 35, and Andrzej Latoszewski, 38, have both been jailed for a minimum of 39 years for the murder of Sebastian Kalinowski.
Kalinowska and Latoszewski were also sentenced to nine years each for child cruelty.
Mrs Justice Lambert ordered that those sentences be served concurrently to their life terms.
Agnieszka Kalinowska ordered to serve a minimum of 39 years for the murder of her son Sebastian.
Andrzej Latoszewski jailed for at least 39 years for the murder of Sebastian Kalinowski.
Mrs Justice Lambert says none of the factors that would trigger a whole-life term are present.
She said she does not believe Kalinowska and Latoszewski's treatment of Sebastian was motivated by sadism.
She said she considers the appropriate starting point is 30 years, but aggravating features may increase the minimum term.
The judge told the court that it was impossible to watch the CCTV footage without being "utterly horrified"
She said Latoszewski was a "bully" who sought to "intimidate and frighten Sebastian," regarding him as "easy prey".
Turning to Kalinowska the judge said she "just did not care" what was happening to her son.
Mrs Justice Lambert has told the court how Kalinowska attempted to cover-up the abuse of Sebastian by lying to his school and saying he was unwell.
The judge said, however, once the school holidays started the beatings became "more frequent and more serious".
She said that once the holidays began "scarcely a day goes by where Sebastian is not subjected to physical abuse".
She outlined occasions when Latoszewski forced Sebastian to perform push-ups and squats, allowing him to stop only to punch and kick him.
On another occasion Sebastian was forced to stare at his bedroom wall for an entire day.
While watching the sentencing you won’t see anything apart from the judge and there is a delay on the feed.
There may be moments when the feed is stopped due to sensitive matters or if something happens inside the courtroom.
Mrs Justice Lambert said the the jury did not have to speculate about the nature of the abuse Sebastian endured as much of it was captured on CCTV cameras and stored on a hard drive found by police after his death.
She said: "It shows you, Latoszewski, using your martial arts techniques to punch and kick Sebastian repeatedly about the torso and head, using Sebastian's body in the same way you used the punchbag in your garden.
"Kalinowska, you were almost always present when the abuse was inflicted.
"On other occasions, you sat indifferently on the sofa, eating, drinking or watching TV. You landed blows on him too, encouraging Latoszewski by joining in the abuse, slapping or punching Sebastian."
Mrs Justice Lambert has begun her sentencing by outlining how Sebastian died.
"Sebastian Kalinowski died on 13 August 2021. He was 15 years old.
"In the weeks before his death he was subjected to horrific, physical abuse.
"At the post-mortem examination he was found to have sustained 23 rib fractures, there was a large blood clot in his liver, his heart muscle was damaged, and evidence of injury to his left thigh.
"There were a very large number of linear scabs across back and buttocks, wounds cut so deep that the fat had been stripped down to the muscle.
"Sebastian did not die from any one injury, but from but from infection - sepsis and collapse."

Agnieszka Kalinowska and Andrzej Latoszewski have both been on remand for 444 days, prosecutor Jason Pitter KC has told the court.
Therefore whatever sentence passed by Mrs Justice Lambert will come with the caveat that their time spent in prison so far will be deducted from the minimum term.
The live broadcast of Mrs Justice Lambert's sentencing remarks will begin shortly.

Kalinowska and Latoszewski sat with their heads bowed as Jacek Kalinowski's statement went on to describe how his world "came tumbling down" with the news of his son's death.
"The wound inflicted will never heal and the pain will never go away," he said.
"It’s a huge blow for me and my entire family.
"Nothing is going to ever be the same again the nightmare comes back to haunt me every single day.
"I made many mistakes as a parent, I may not be a perfect father, but I loved Sebastian and I could not protect him from evil, inflicted by his own mother. You are the greatest evil that walks this earth.
"For you there will be no forgiveness and I hope every time you close your eyes, you see Seb suffering in pain, a frightened little boy. I hope this image stays with you, and doesn’t leave you forever."
Prosecutor Jason Pitter KC has read a victim impact statement to the court on behalf of Sebastian's father, Jacek, in Poland.
He began by saying: "There is not a crime crueller than murder, especially when it involves a child, your own child.
"You turned every day in Seb’s life into a nightmare. What kind of monster do you have to be to do what you did to a child. My question is why? Why did you hate him?
"You inflicted so much pain and humiliation on him. How could you let your child be harmed. You took everything from him.
"Who gave you a right to raise your hand against my child?"

During the six-week trial the jury of 12 men and women heard distressing details about the case and watched harrowing videos filmed inside the home.
Mrs Justice Lambert said in July that jury members were welcome to attend for the sentencing, though excused them from ever having to serve on a jury again.
Today, some of them have returned, albeit into a different court to where the trial was held, to see the sentencing.
Mrs Justice Lambert has told the prosecution and defence barristers that she must decide whether Kalinowska and Latoszewski will be jailed for life with a minimum of 30 years or given a whole-life sentence.
There are 64 people currently in prison in England and Wales under whole-life orders, which are reserved for exceptional cases and mean they will never be released.
Mitigating for Kalinowska, Geraldine Kelly, argued her client had never intended to kill her son and should not receive a whole-life sentence.
On behalf of Latoszewski, Leonard Smith KC, urged the judge to take into account the fact his client had pleaded guilty to manslaughter at the start of the trial.
