Winds will continue to strengthen through the first part of the night with gusts up to 60mph possible for a time.
There is a yellow warning in place meaning "be aware".
Winds will then ease into the early hours and any remaining rain will fizzle out to leave things dry but breezy with lows of 8C (46F).

Members of Kayleigh Haywood's family have taken to Facebook to try to find the missing teenager.
Sandi Haywood has set up a group called Kayleigh Haywood Missing.
Two hours ago, she made this plea: "PLEASE!!!! Police are asking if yourselves or any known dog walkers that walked there dog in sense valley between SATURDAY, SUNDAY or MONDAY please think back if you sore anything that may help find kayleigh xx please share xx"
The page is also being used by friends, family and local people to send messages of hope and good luck to Kayleigh's family.

People around Ibstock have been talking to BBC Radio Leicester about how concerned they are for missing teenager Kayleigh Haywood.
One local woman, Gale Finny, said: "We're very, very concerned that it has happened to the village and we'd like to give some sort of help searching the areas because Ibstock is a very big area and there is a lot of woodland.
"We're very sad this has happened, we've got children and grandchildren and send our love to her family."
It seems you're all very worried about missing Kayleigh Haywood from Measham.
On our Facebook page, external, Rose Standen said: "Dear God I hope they find her soon and she is home with her family"

Also in the news today, Gary Glitter has lost an appeal against his convictionfor sexual abuse.
In February he was jailed for 16 years, for attacks on three schoolgirls in the late 1970s.
One of the victims met him after a show at the old Bailey's nightclub in Leicester.
Police have said this afternoon they are taking Kayleigh's disappearance extremely seriously.
Det Ch Supt David Sandall also made a plea to local dog walkers and other people who visited the park to share any information they might have.
Two men arrested following the 15-year-old's disappearance will have to be release or charged soon, unless police are granted more time.

Pete Harris helps Ibstock Juniors and the Leicester Futsal League.
The 49 year old will now go to the national final at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award in Belfast.
