    Kayleigh Haywood's parents say their hearts are breaking as the search for their "baby girl" continues.

    Her mother, Stephanie Haywood, and dad, Martin Whitby, said: “We have not seen Kayleigh since Friday. It is breaking our hearts and we are shedding tear after tear.

    “We love Kayleigh so much and without her our family is incomplete. A big part of our lives has gone.

    “Her brothers and sisters are constantly asking for her and if anyone knows anything we beg you to come forward. We just need to know what has happened to our baby girl.”

    Candles have been lit for Kayleigh at Ibstock Baptist Church, which is welcoming visitors until 22:00.

    They're also offering free purple ribbons to allow visitors to tie a bow for the 15-year-old.

    One woman said: "It makes me feel terrible, I've got a daughter that's only 14 and at the moment I wont let her out of my sight. I won't even let her go up the road to her friend's house.

    "You don't think it's going to happen on your doorstep. I cant even imagine what her family must be going through at the moment."

    He also said he was remaining optimistic she would still be found safe and well despite police opening a murder inquiry.

    A candlelit vigil has been planned by members of the community in Ibstock, in memory of Kayleigh Haywood.

    It'll be held tonight in the community garden at Ibstock community college at 18:00. This is Kayleigh's old school.

    People have been told told they can leave ribbons for Kayleigh and they're being encouraged to bring candles to light for her.

  15. Kayleigh Haywood: School pupils offered supportpublished at 15:08

    Ashby School, where Kayleigh Haywood was a Year 11 student, says counselling is being offered to other pupils.

    It said, external: "We have support staff available and have liaised with the County Council regarding additional support for students that may require it."

    Just to recap, in the past hour police have told us they believe missing 15-year-old Kayleigh Haywood has been murdered.

  17. Kayleigh Haywood: 'Traumatic time for her parents'published at 14:36

    Police urged anyone who might have seen Kayleigh Haywood over the weekend to get in touch.

    Dt Ch Insp David Sandall said: "This is an extremely traumatic time for her parents, who are deeply worried as Kayleigh has not made contact.

    "As inquiries have been completed we have become increasingly concerned that she may have come to harm and today we have told the family that we are treating her disappearance as a murder inquiry. 

    "We need to find Kayleigh. If anybody has any information, however small, about where Kayleigh is then please come forward and tell us."

    Dt Ch Insp David Sandall, from Leicestershire Police, said detectives were examining Kayleigh Haywood's Facebook account for clues to her disappearance.

    He said: "We are doing inquiries through Facebook to identify any other witnesses or anybody that could help us find Kayleigh. 

     "Obviously 15-year-olds do contact people within social media. We are aware that she was active on Facebook and those inquiries are still ongoing.
