    Police investigating Kayleigh Haywood's murder want to hear from anyone who might have witnessed unusual behaviour by people or vehicles in the Diseworth or Belton areas between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning.

    The two men that had been arrested on suspicion of Kayleigh Haywood's kidnap have been re-arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

    Here's a bit more from Det Ch Insp David Sandall on the news we've just received that police believe missing teenager Kayleigh Haywood has been murdered, external.

    He said: “We have searched several locations including Sence Valley Forest Park in the Ibstock area looking for her. This is a considerable expanse of land.

    "The park has been cordoned off and is likely to remain so for some days yet while we conduct a thorough search of the area looking for her. 

    "A number of other locations are currently being searched, including an area in Belton and Diseworth."

    Here's the full update from police, external on the Kayleigh Haywood murder investigation.

    Det Ch Supt David Sandall said: “Since we started looking for her we have found her mobile phone in Melbourne Road, Ibstock and items of clothing which we believe are hers in the Ibstock and Diseworth areas.

    “In all the circumstances, we fear the worst and have told her family to prepare themselves that we are now treating her disappearance as a murder enquiry."

    Ok so it seems there was some serious damage caused by the strong winds.

    The High Cross monument in Jubilee Square has lost its high cross.

    The city council says the crane was lifting a piece of the big wheel into place early this morning, when the wind blew it into the monument.

    The cross is now being kept safe by the authority until it can be put back in place.

    We've just heard police investigating the disappearance of Kayleigh Haywood are in Belton.

    They won't tell us any more yet but say their activity there is connected to the missing 15-year-old.

    Volunteer cadets have been involved in the search for missing Kayleigh Haywood.

    Last night they were in Ibstock handing out leaflets appealing for information to help trace her.

    A mobile phone, thought to belong to the 15-year-old, was found in the area yesterday near Sence Valley Forest Park.

    A Facebook campaign to find Kayleigh Haywood is using the purple ribbon as its emblem - the missing teenager's favourite colour.

  15. Missing girl's family 'just want their KJ home'published at 10:00

    Last night, Kayleigh Haywood's family spoke outabout her disappearance. 

    Her mum and dad described her as a bubbly, loving, caring girl who loves her family.

    They said: “Your brothers and sister are missing you and just want you home.

    “We all miss you so much, especially Mertle, your little sister. Please come home, you’re not in any trouble, we just want you back safe and sound.”

    They also asked anyone who knows anything or has any information about Kayleigh's whereabouts to contact the police, saying: "We just want our KJ home.”
