They say every day is a school day, so my history lesson continues with a further look at Donington Le Heath Manor House's past.

    Richard III bed

It's home to a four-poster bed, which was (allegedly) slept in by Richard III on his way to the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

I wasn't around at the time so don't know if this is true, but it's a good story all the same.

I'm ashamed to say I've never had the time to go to Donington Le Heath Manor House, but that's not because it isn't a fascinating place.

Perhaps what is most interesting about its past is that it was once owned by one of the gunpowder plotters Sir Everard Digby.

    BBC Local Live

Now I'm usually indifferent to the results of most surveys, but this one conducted by the BBC has thrown up some particularly interesting findings.

    People stood arm in arm

It has found 43% of people in the East Midlands believe racism has increased since 2013.

But when we asked people if they thought racism was a problem where they lived, only 11% said they thought it was.

This survey was conducted to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the Race Relations Act.
