    Leicester Tigers and England scrum-half Ben Youngs has been talking to BBC Radio Leicester about his future at the club.

    He recently signed a new three-year deal at Welford Road and it seems he has no intentions of going anywhere else.

    He says: "It's always my club, dad played here, Tom's here, it's the club I always wanted to play for. It's very important I remember that and I enjoy every moment.

    "Of cause things can change later on but at the moment I'm very happy being at Leicester Tigers."

    Claudio Ranieri has pleaded guilty to speeding after being caught driving 96mph in a 70mph zone in Cambridgeshire.

    The Leicester City boss was fined £700 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £70 surcharge.

    Five points has also been put on his licence, which was clean before now.

  5. Rugby: Barrow suspended for Northampton derbypublished at 17:02

    Dom Barrow has received a one-week suspension for punching Maro Itoje in last weekend's game against Saracens.

    The Tigers second row forward will now miss Saturday's local derby against Northampton Saints.

    He'll be free to play again on 12 January.

    You may have heard the national story today about how hundreds of GP surgeries in England are refusing any new patients, or applying to do so.

    Well, Professor Azhar Farooqi is a Leicester GP and also chair of the Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group.

    None of the surgeries listed are in the city but he says it's still a worry.

    He said: "It illustrates the pressure that general practices are under, particularly around the shortage of GP's .

    "This is partly because fewer GP's are coming into the profession and also because GP's are starting to retire and we're getting early retirement as well so it's just a symptom of a profession under pressure."

    A spokesman for Sarah Outen said she is hoping to salvage the boat that cost about £250,000.

    He said: "When you are at sea for six months or so and not really speaking to a human being, the boat takes on a life of its own.

    "Losing it would be something akin to grieving. I'd say there'll be a teary reunion."

    Sarah Outen had been at sea for five months when she had to abandon Happy Socks in the Atlantic.

    She's spoken about the finding of her beloved boat.

    She said: "I got that wonderful sort of news that makes your tummy turn and tears flow and rocks your happy socks off. Happy Socks is safe."

    Remember Rutland explorer Sarah Outen? 

    How about her rowing boat "Happy Socks" that she was forced to abandon in a hurricane?

    Well, great news... it's been found.

    A volunteer lifeboat recovered the boat from near Dunmanus Bay in Ireland and towed it back to Castletownbere.

  10. Search for trio who helped punch victimpublished at 15:22

    Police are looking for three men that stepped in, external and helped a man after he was punched in Loughborough.

    It happened at about 14.50 on Sunday 27 December between High Street and Market Place.

    The victim was walking towards Baxtergate when a man grabbed him by the collar and punched him several times in the head.

    Three young white men ran to help the victim and separated him from the suspect.

    Leicester Tigers fly-half Freddie Burns has been talking about suffering with Bell's Palsy.

    Burns developed the condition, which causes temporary weakness or paralysis of muscles in one side of the face. after breaking his jaw in a pre-season match in October but says he's "pretty much" fully recovered now.

    He said: “My left eye still feels a bit funny when I get tired. It blinks a bit heavier” 

    “I did have a slight issue with the floodlights in some aspects when the high balls went up.”

    A "substantial" amount of cash was stolen from a pub in Cropston during a robbery the day after Boxing Day., external

    Two men went into the Bradgate Arms, in Station Road, at about 23:15 and threatened a member of staff for the money.

    Earlier that evening two men were seen in the area acting suspiciously in a white Ford Transit Connect van. 

    Police think this could be linked to the robbery and have appealed for information.

  13. Floodlights 'important for future of the club'published at 14:27

    Mr Clarke says another reason he is supporting the floodlight application is because he believes they will only be used by the club between seven and 10 times a year.

    The club is one of only two in the country without flood lights and he believe it's important to allow the club to keep up with modern standards.

    Adam Clarke, in charge of energy and sustainability at Leicester City Council, supports the floodlight plans.

    He says tests have been carried out on Park Hill Drive and found only four properties would be affected by bleeding light and none of them have objected to the application.

    Footfall is something he says is already a problem with the club.

    He says he want them to look at the issue closely and says the club "know their responsibilities".

  15. Wasim Khan: 'Fantastic' support for floodlightspublished at 13:44

    Leicestershire CCC's chief executive Wasim Khan says he is not aware of any major concerns about the club's floodlight plans.

    He says: "We've had one or two concerns, mainly around the size of the pylons but generally the support has been fantastic locally.

    "I think everybody recognises that supporting the club will secure the club being here in Aylestone."

  16. Residents concerned about new floodlightspublished at 13:25

    If given the go-ahead, the floodlights will stand 40 metres high - that's four times the height of Leicester's clock tower.

    It's mainly people living on Park Hill Drive that would be affected and some are unhappy with the plans.

    One resident told BBC Radio Leicester the impact will be "huge", mainly because of the increased footfall.

    Another said his family already struggle to sleep with the light coming from the ground during T20 games and says this will make it worse.
