    If you come in and out the city via Welford Road, then I'm afraid you better start preparing for five months of delays and disruption.

    The £1.7m plan will see the removal of a bus lane, which will be replaced by a two-way cycle lane and a new footpath. 

    The work's expected to take about five months.

  8. David Bowie dies aged 69published at 08:35

    As you may have heard, David Bowie has died following an 18-month battle with cancer.

    He played in Leicester three times, at the Mecca Ballroom in February 1966, the Latin Quarter in August 1966 and De Montfort Hall in June 1973.
