It's not just the Alberto Costa who's unhappy about the Magna Park expansion plans, plenty of local residents aren't happy either.

Months after these plans were announced last summer, opposition began to grow among people living near the area.

One resident told our BBC reporter it's not the right location, saying: "I feel that economic development is necessary in the right places but it should be need and not greed.

"Need should be established, it should be sustainable, houses or distribution centres should go where there's a need so where jobs are required."

South Leicestershire MP Alberto Costa says the expansion of Magna Park isn't needed in the area because unemployment is low.

Mr Costa says the development might benefit the nation as a whole, but it won't benefit his area.

He argues they already have a large distribution centre and they don't want or need another.

He feels the centre should go somewhere else in the country where the jobs are more welcome.

Usually, plans to create lots of new jobs in Leicestershire would be welcomed... but not with this next story.

Next week, councillors at Harborough District Council are expected to approve plans for a massive new storage unit north of the current site. There's also an application for 10 new warehouses south of Magna Park.

But Mr Costa says hundreds of residents don't want the site to get any bigger.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) says no staff or inmates were injured during the stand-off and police were investigating what happened.

They said there was no evidence it was an attempt to escape because external walls were not compromised.

PwC's Tony Barrell said the chain was a victim of changing consumer habits:

"The continuing challenging conditions for 'bricks and mortar' retail stores are well documented," he said.

"Like many others, Brantano has been hit hard by the change in consumers' shopping habits and the evolution of the UK retail environment."
