The big news affecting the whole country today is the second 24-hour strike by junior doctors.
Doctors walked out at 08:00 this morning forcing the cancellation of nearly 3,000 operations.

Around 10 of those operations cancelled are in Leicester. Between the three hospitals here 351 outpatient appointments have also been cancelled.

If you live on or near Devana Road in the Evington area of Leicester you may have noticed the presence of the fire service last night.
They were called to a fire in a property in the early hours of the morning and spent just over an hour extinguishing it.
