    Keith Vaz has said he belives any team in the Premier League should be able to challenge for a Champions League place. 

    He's argued: "The financial considerations of a small number of football clubs should never be the basis of major structural changes to the footballing system."

    Keith Vaz, who supports Leicester City, has said his club deserve to have an "equal opportunity" to challenge for a place in the Champions League.

    American tycoon Charlie Stillitano has held talks with the five biggest clubs about "blocking off" the competition.

    Three of the five, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, are currently outside the top four.

    Roy Hodgson has told Talksport Danny Drinkwater is in his consideration and would be "capable" of playing for England.  

    However he wouldn't confirm or deny whether we will see new faces in the squad for the upcoming friendlies later this month.

    The Liberal Democrats have named their candidate for the upcoming elections for Leicestershire's new police and crime commissioner.

    County Councillor Dr Sarah Hill has been nominated to represent the party in the polls in May. 

    She'll be up against Conservative Neil Bannister, Labour's Lord Willy Bach, and UKIP's David Sprason.

  8. Zero gravity probe over Afghan helicopter crashpublished at 16:30

    Five British servicemen who died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan would have to have been "actively naughty" to attempt weightlessness onboard, an inquest has heard.

    The Army Air Corps Lynx, carrying Flt Lt Rakesh Chauhan from Cropston, crashed near Kandahar airbase in April 2014.

    A service inquiry published last year said the pilots may have been attempting to simulate the feeling of zero gravity just before impact. 

    Their families have denied they would carry out such a stunt.

    The British Geological Survey (BGS) have said they wondered whether football fans would affect the detectors. 

    Paul Denton, a seismologist with the BGS, said: "The seismometers were actually closer to the Leicester Tigers [rugby] ground and so we were expecting stronger signals from there but we can't find anything.

    "It says something about the nature of football, it's so tense and then we get four or five seconds of unexpected magic."

    The tremors from Leicester City have been labelled the "Vardy Quake" after top scorer Jamie Vardy.

    A seismometer was installed by geology students, and the British Geological Survey (BSG), at Hazel Community Primary School, 500m (0.3 miles) from the King Power Stadium, as part of a project to detect earthquakes around the world.

  13. Leicester fans caused 'earthquake'published at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2016

    An "earthquake" made by football fans celebrating a goal has been recorded for the first time in the UK.

    A University of Leicester team installed a seismometer near Leicester City's King Power stadium and reported a minor quake with a magnitude of 0.3.

    The tremor was attributed to a "sudden energy release" made by Foxes fans when Leonardo Ulloa scored a last-minute winner against Norwich, in February.

  14. Ex-scout leader 'forced boys to watch pornography'published at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2016

    Police say Mike Medhurst lured boys to his home, where he plied them with alcohol and forced them to watch pornography and play games with cards with explicit images on them.

    He was jailed for five years and four months on Monday.
