It appears we have a new record breaker from Leicestershire. 

Edith Varley, 104, from Oadby is thought to be the oldest patient in the world to have a full hip replacement operation. 

According to Guinness World Records, the previous oldest patient was 102-year-old John Randall, external.

• Surgeons in Leicester have successfully carried out hip replacement surgery on a woman thought to be the oldest person in the country to have the operation

The developers behind Hinckley Crescent have promised that empty shop units will be filled. 

Some shoppers have complained too many of the units are empty. 

But the developers behind the project have said they're on the brink of signing some new names.
