    You may remember us reporting on a crash at the junction of Fosse Road South and Upperton Road in Leicester earlier this month which left two people dead.

  2. School staff suspended after teen injuredpublished at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2016

    The three women arrested on neglect offences were staff members at the West Gate School and have since been suspended.

    Police confirmed the women, aged 49, 61 and 62, have been released on bail while the investigation continues.

    The school's chair of governors, the Rev Canon Peter Taylor, said: "A number of investigations are being carried out into the circumstances of this tragic incident."

    I told you a bit yesterday about three women being arrested after a man was injured at a swimming pool in Leicester, now I've got a little more information.

    It happened at the West Gate special school in Glenfield Road and it's not just police investigating what happened but adult social services are as well.

    The 18-year-old got into difficulty in the water in January. 

    He ended up in intensive care but his condition has since stabilised and he's been moved to Leicester General Hospital.

    Leicestershire's chief constable Simon Cole says: “We hope that the launch of the text service and the signing of hands will make it even easier for people to show their support.  

    "The display will visually show Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland’s on-going commitment and help ensure the momentum for this campaign continues.”

    Other ways you can now pledge to support ending child sexual abuse are by text message or by signing a CEASE hand (don't worry I'll explain).

    The new texting system allows people to pledge by sending the word CEASE to 87007.

    However if you've not into technology you can add your signature to one of thousands of CEASE hands being displayed across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

  7. Hundreds pledge support for anti-exploitation campaignpublished at 11:10 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2016

    The police and crime commissioner for Leicestershire says a campaign to stop the abuse and sexual exploitation of children is already showing its potential to make a real difference.

    The campaign, called CEASE, launched last month and so far 700 people have pledged their support, including Gary Lineker, Parminder Nagra, Sam Bailey and Tom Croft.

    The general manager of St Martins House thinks the increase in the rat population in the gardens is down to the mild weather and the large amount of building work going on in the area.

    Nick Quinn says they are working to eradicate the problem, including adding a new pest control element to the bins.

    He's optimistic they will resolve the issue, adding there's been no signings so far this week.

    The discovery and reburial of King Richard III in Leicester has attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city's cathedral.

    Police say several people have come forward reporting sightings of Josh Cotton in the days and hours leading up to his disappearance.

    Sgt James Cross, from the Missing Persons Team, says: "We are of course growing increasingly concerned for Josh.

    “I’m urging people to think back to a week ago. Were you at the marina? Did you see Josh? A team of officers want to hear from you if you have any information at all. Even the smallest details could help us.”

    So far, police divers have searched the marina where Josh Cotton lived as well as the fields and scrub land around the marina.

    Leaflets appealing for information have also been handed out to about 400 boat owners.
