Heavy showers continuing for the afternoon but fading away this evening. It will be a mostly dry night with some clear spells.

Following today's guilty plea, the victim's family have also spoken out.
His parents said: "Finally, after making our child and our family wait all this time we are pleased that he has pleaded guilty today and spared our son the trauma of having to go through the horrific details of what happened to him all over again.”

Police are keen to make sure the young boy's identity remains unknown to safeguard him and protect his right to dignity.
Det Ch Supt David Sandall is Head of Crime and said: "The boy was subjected to a serious assault and is now courageously trying to rebuild his life.
"We can all support him in that process by not trying to second guess further details about the case or sharing rumours on social media.
“I also recognise this incident had an impact on the whole community and want to extend my thanks to them for their support and sensitivity though out the investigation and court process.”

I've got a bit more information now on this crash in Melton.
Police have told me a woman driving a car crashed into a male pedestrian at 13:55 and the car "came to rest" against the wall of a shop.
There is no structural damage to the building.

Det Insp Tony Yarwood led the investigation into the assault at Wash Brook Nature Park and believes Jetha went out that day with a sole and deliberate intention of finding a child to attack.
He says: “The evidence gathered against him by a team of highly experienced and determined investigators was overwhelming, and it was the sheer weight of that evidence that I believe helped persuade him to plead guilty in court today.
He also praised the young boy and his family, external for having the courage to report what happened, describing them as showing "immense courage and strength".

I can tell you more now about 32-year-old Ajay Jetha who has pleaded guilty to seriously sexually assaulting a boy in Leicester.
Jetha was in court this morning for the start of his trial when he pleaded guilty to all the offences against him.
These also include taking indecent photos of a child and actual bodily harm.
This all relates to an attack on a child in Wash Brook Nature Park near Knighton Lane East last October.

Our emergency services have been in Melton this afternoon dealing with a vehicle that crashed into a shop on Wilton Road.
The female driver and a male pedestrian had to be taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.

I've just called Nottingham Magistrates' Court to get an update on the three people from Leicester charged over the alleged Bulwell kidnapping.
Alshauntia Robinson, 22, has been bailed to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 3 May.
Tafari Smith, 26, and Denell Baker, 23, have been remanded in custody and will appear at crown court on the same date.

Leicestershire Police say they are now investigating a report of malicious communication after several abusive tweets were posted on Twitter about Jamie Vardy's family.
The abusive messages were sent to the Leicester City player's fiancee yesterday evening, following the game against Southampton.
They've since been reported to the police who say, external enquiries are "ongoing" and they are liaising with Leicester City Football Club.

A sex attacker has pleaded guilty to falsely imprisoning and sexually assaulting a young boy in Leicester.
Ajay Jetha, who's 32 years old, admitted a string of serious sex offences against the young boy as his trial was due to begin at Leicester Crown Court this morning.
