The 26 occasions the taxi drivers have been penalised by the new system, mean a total of 104 points have been issued.

In 20 of those cases, points were issued for cabbies because they had parked inappropriately in restricted areas.

This included Jubilee Square, Horsefair Street, Belvoir Street, Granby Street and Welford Road.

  3. Youngs positive about Saracens artificial pitchpublished at 08:27 British Summer Time 19 May 2016

    BBC Leicester Sport

Leicester Tigers will play Saracens on their artificial surface this weekend. They haven't won on a plastic pitch so far this season, having already lost at Allianz Park, as well as Newcastle.

Tigers scrum-half Ben Youngs is staying positive though.

He says: "I think with some of the running guys we've got in terms of our back line, hopefully it's a good fast surface.

"Even if the rain comes in, the pitch is always a fast surface and there's no mud on it.

"It's something we should get excited about as a back line."

Remember the taxi driver protests that went on in Leicester at the end of last year?

It was all about the introduction of a new penalty points scheme that meant drivers could get points for things like stopping on double yellow lines.

The protests didn't work - the new scheme came into effect nearly six months ago.

New figures show that since then, points have been handed out on 26 occasions.
