    King Richard lll Visitor Centre in Leicester has a quiet courtyard cafe - a hidden gem within the city.

    This morning volunteers from allotment societies across Leicester helped the city council gardening team to update the courtyard with plants more in keeping with King Richard lll.

    All the trees and plants taken out will be recycled by the allotment holders.

    The new design will include white roses, green and gold plants, English and French lavender and red tulips.

    It's believed that David Hemsley is considering appealing his punishment.

    If this is unsuccessful, Hemsley will have to pay his fine in full before his replacement is appointed.

    The club are hoping his wife Julia to succeed him... awkward.

    You may have heard yesterday that that Leicester Lions' owner has been suspended.

    David Hemsley has been given a 12-month suspension and a £7,500 fine for seven breaches of Speedway Regulations.

    The charges relate to a series of incidents involving unauthorised visits to the Referee's Office during the Lions' Elite League meeting with King's Lynn in April.

    The trial starts today of two men accused of falsely imprisoning murdered schoolgirl Kayleigh Haywood.

    The 15-year-old was found dead in undergrowth near Ibstock in November, five days after she went missing.

    Stephen Beadman has admitted raping and murdering Kayleigh, while Luke Harlow pleaded guilty to sexual grooming and two counts of sexual activity.

    Both deny false imprisonment and will stand trial at Nottingham Crown Court today.

    The British Red Cross in Oadby give out survival packs to refugees that come here. Inside are things like food, nappies and sleeping bags.

    Cathy Stevenson is in charge of the service and says: "Whether you're here in Leicester giving out food parcels to destitute refugees and asylum seekers or in the Sudan giving giving food off the back of a lorry the demand is really the same."

    Requests for help from refugees has gone up hugely from 75 a month three years ago to more than 200 now.

    Christina said she was roaming the streets of Leicester. 

    She spent seven years fighting a legal battle to stay here as a refugee but wasn't allowed to work during that time.

    She slept on floors and found some people took advantage of her vulnerable state.

    The Red Cross have told BBC Radio Leicester they have helped several hundred refugees and asylum seekers in the city so far this year. 

    The charity says many of them have lost their right to support and accommodation are have ended up on the street.
