    A Leicestershire MP claims it sets a "dangerous precedent" to extend the deadline to register to vote in the EU referendum.

    It's been put back until midnight tonight after the government's website crashed on Tuesday. 

    But Andrew Bridgen says people had been given plenty of notice.  

    Opposition parties had expressed anger at the events and called for an extension to the deadline, with Lib Dem leader and pro-Remain campaigner Tim Farron saying it was a "shambles" that could affect the referendum result.

    A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary following a break in at a Sikh temple in Leicester.

    The burglary happened in the early hours of last week in Holy Bones.

    The arrested man remains in police custody.
