    Donington Le Heath manor house near Coalville has officially reopened to the public after a year long renovation programme.

    The restored period rooms now give visitors the chance to see how people lived in the late Elizabethan and early Jacobean times. 

    The garden has also been redesigned to feature 17th century-style plants and a herb garden.

    Former England midfielder Danny Murphy has been speculating as to whether Jamie Vardy will get the nod ahead of Harry Kane for tonight's match against Iceland.

    "I have got a feeling Roy will go for Harry Kane in the middle because Iceland will not leave any space behind their back-line for Jamie Vardy to exploit" Murphy told the BBC Sport website. 

    "He will probably feel that Kane is a bit better with his back to goal on the edge of the box."

    The team at North West Leicestershire District Council are now looking into ways to commemorate World War I, having missed out on the poppies.

    "Our plan now is to pull together as a community and create our own event in 2017. I'm hopeful that we'll have lots of support from all walks of life."
