A local church has remained very involved with the Measham community in helping them come to terms with what happened to Kayleigh.
Last year the St Laurence Church held a memorial service for the 15 year old and tributes were left outside for her.
When the trial started earlier this month the church put a note on their website to say they will be open for those wanting to say a prayer for Kayleigh and her family.
They asked for flowers to be left outside the front of the church around what has become known as "Kayleigh's tree".

At the height of the investigation into Kayleigh's disappearance and murder more than 300 police officers were involved in the search.
There were also a lot of support staff and volunteers looking for Kayleigh.
Cadets distributed leaflets, volunteers made police hot drinks and people living in the Measham area were even asked to check their gardens.

Police have said we may "never fully know what happened" the weekend Kayleigh was killed.
Harlow claims he fell asleep and in the morning Kayleigh had gone and Beadman opted not to give evidence over a charge of false imprisonment.
In the police video he's heard saying he'd had a lot to drink and couldn't remember what happened before the murder.

A 25-year-old woman who had also been messaging Harlow on Facebook told the jury he would make feel guilty if she did not respond to him.
When asked about his messages about kidnapping her, she said: “I did find it a bit creepy and that was one of the reasons I didn’t want to meet him."
Harlow told police he had about 2,000 friends on Facebook and admitted he would accept requests from people he didn't know.

Kayleigh wasn't the first girl Harlow had targeted online.
In court the prosecution said he was also messaging other teenage girls, one as young as 13.
The 27-year-old told one girl who he began messaging when she was 15: "l wish I could kidnap you for Christmas but I would probably get arrested and sent to prison."
He also told her: "Having sex with drunk unconscious girls is my favourite."

Kayleigh’s family have continually shown such bravery and my thoughts remain with them at this extremely distressing time. Clearly this is a difficult period for children and young people and we’re working with schools to ensure that they are supported.”

Quote Message“It’s tragic that a young person with their whole life ahead of them is no longer with us and first and foremost, my thoughts remain with Kayleigh’s family. Following a case of this nature, the next step is to carry out a serious case review, which is underway and will be looking carefully to see if any lessons can be learned and action taken.”
Paul Burnett, Independent chair of the Leicestershire and Rutland Local Safeguarding Children Board

It was clear from text messages read out in court that Harlow didn't want anyone else knowing about his weekend with Kayleigh.
He texted her: "Let's just keep it secret" and "I am too old for you and I will get into trouble for seeing you".
In another message he said: "I really like you I just keep worrying about the age range because I could get into trouble."

Quote MessageHarlow pursued a succession of under-age girls in a sinister manner, talking about ‘kidnapping’ them and making them ‘slaves’. I would like to offer my heartfelt sympathy to Kayleigh’s family and I hope the conviction of these highly dangerous men will in some way help them start to cope with their loss.”

Quote Message“The death of Kayleigh Haywood was devastating. She suffered a terrifying ordeal at the hands of Stephen Beadman. She was only in that position because she had been groomed by Luke Harlow before being kept against her will. Beadman callously raped and took the life of an innocent teenage girl."

Quote Message"Last week the NSPCC revealed that more than 3,000 sex crimes using the internet were committed against children last year and Kayleigh’s tragic death is an example of the way the online world is increasingly being used by abusers. In the coming years it is vital that police are given the resources to tackle this rapidly developing, 21st century crime, and that we continue to help our children stay safe online.”

Quote Message“This shocking case is a stark reminder of the dangers that young people face on social media. Kayleigh was groomed by a predatory paedophile who had already tried and failed to meet two other 15-year-old girls. The sickening chain of events that followed ended with Kayleigh being raped and murdered by his friend."
