    The 63-year-old denies the wilful neglect charge along with 61-year-old-Marilyn Smith. 

    They will both face trial on the 5 July.

    Two teaching assistants from Leicester have pleaded not guilty to a charge of wilful neglect of a pupil during a swimming lesson.

    A boy with mental and physical disabilities slipped out of his rubber ring and was under the water for 90 seconds before he was revived - he suffered a cardiac arrest, and brain and lung damage. 

    It happened at West Gate School in Leicester in January.

    We've been speaking to the owner of the shop and post office in Ryhall that was ram-raided this morning.

    Miranda Amies said: “We live upstairs. We were woken by a loud bang and all the alarms going off. We came downstairs and saw the damage, loads of Christmas stock smashed on the floor . 

    “There was a huge flash from outside as the vehicle went up in flames. It was really frightening – I thought the whole building was going to catch fire and come down."

    Yasir Osman has been missing from his home in Leicester since Thursday 27 October.

    The 16-year-old's dad Aweys Yusuf said: “Please Yasir, we are very worried about you. Your mum does not sleep at night. Please come back home, we need you to come back home. We love you.”

    A 77-year-old pedestrian has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Melton, external at the weekend.

    The crash happened on Gloucester Avenue on Saturday morning. Police have appealed for witnesses.

    I've just spoken to the police to see when we can expect the post mortem examination results for Adam and Matthew Stokes.

    They say it could take a few weeks to carry out the further tests needed.

    The inquest into their deaths, and their father David's, will open tomorrow in Loughborough.

    There's been a crash on Barkby Road in Queniborough.

    Two people have been taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary and another man with back pain was cut from one of the vehicles by the fire service. 

    Two other people are waiting to be assessed by East Midlands Ambulance Service.

    Brandon Clark plays guard for the Leicester Riders but is originally from Indiana in the US.

    He says: "When I was back in America and Trump was being talked about as a candidate people weren't even taking it serious. 

    Now you see he's all the way here till the end - he could actually be the president, which is shocking to me."
