    A boost today for those in favour of a Melton Mowbray's Eastern Bypass - the government has announced it's investing £2.8m to further develop the business case for the road.

    It says the bypass could open up land for housing and commercial development, and reduce congestion in the town centre.

    Mrs Stokes, as the children call her, has bright pink hair and wears flip-flops no matter what the weather.

    She greets the children with a smile, knows many by name and isn’t just a lollipop lady but also a lunchtime lady.

    The assistant headteacher told me if she sees an unhappy child in the morning she’ll always remember and check up on them at lunchtime.

    A group of men have forced their way into the home of an elderly person, external and stolen a large amount of their jewellery.

    It happened on the Cotswold Close area of Loughborough on Wednesday.

    The victim was treated for minor injuries but has since been released from hospital.

    Brandon's head teacher at Judgemeadow College said the whole school was extremely saddened by his death.

    In relation to the claims of bullying, James McKenna said: "Judgemeadow takes the welfare of its pupils very seriously and does not tolerate bullying in any form.”

    Health bosses have responded to claims that calls to help Brandon were ignored.

    After Brandon made several suicide attempts, Mina and Raj Rayat say they asked for help from the authorities.

    They wanted him to be sectioned because they knew he needed help but said "nobody listened to us".
