    Most of us in Leicestershire know of the local food manufacturer Samworth Brothers, based in Melton Mowbray.

    It might be based around here but it's just invested further afield and bought the West Cornwall Pasty Co.

    This means the firm now owns the 52 shops across the UK and the head office and distribution centre in Buckinghamshire.

    It's thought to have cost millions of pounds.

    Insp Gavin Drummond is the Inspector for the Eastern area of the county where some of the car vandalism took place.

    He has said he would be very careful in encouraging people to patrol their own community because of the risks that come with it.

    He also said a community style of policing "would not have necessarily stopped the crime that occurred a few days ago".

    Has the spate of vehicle vandalism worried you? If so would you go to the lengths of putting CCTV cameras up outside your house?

    Saeed Ahmed owns a CCTV business in Leicester and told BBC Radio Leicester a camera will deter a criminal.

    Also he said the footage can be used in court to convict a person that does break in or cause damage.

    Yesterday we heard the news that the holiday firm All Leisure Group in Market Harborough has had to close.

    Sad for staff but also very worrying for anyone with a holiday booked through them.

    Fortunately the company was ATOL-protected - an extra insurance for customers in case the travel company fails.

    David Clover from the scheme says this means people with a holiday book will get their money back.

    Leicester Tigers captain Tom Youngs has been talking about the temporary appointment of Aaron Mauger as director of rugby after Richard Cockerill was sacked.

    Police say they have a number of "positive lines of inquiry" in their investigation into the car vandalism but as we're often hearing about their limited resources can communities do more themselves?

    Melton borough councillor Alan Pearson has previously suggested setting up community patrols and he told BBC Radio Leicester this recent activity could strengthen the campaign.
