    Dave Wade
    BBC Local Live

"It doesn't matter how many good things I've done in my life, or whether I go to university or college, all I will be labelled as, is as a pikey that just nicks things."

That's what Danniel Bennett, a 19-year-old Romany Gypsy from Nottinghamshire, had to say about this merchandise that's appeared for sale on Amazon and eBay.

    just nick it

Gypsy and Traveller groups are demanding that online sales of products with the slur are removed from sale immediately.

Many, like this one, have fake versions of the Nike tick logo with a racial slur and the words "Just Nick It".

"When somebody puts on a T-shirt like that, I look at it and think, 'Is that what people think of me?', said Danniel, a hairdresser (pictured).

"It doesn't matter what I do, or where I go, or what I achieve in life, I will always be what that T-shirt says. And that doesn't make me feel good."

    Danniel Bennett

Hundreds of listings have been taken down after BBC Newsbeat informed them about the offence they were causing.

Gypsy and Traveller activists have been sharing dozens of screengrabs in Facebook groups and emails, with many saying they have complained to retailers.
