    There are major delays on the M1 southbound between junction 26 and junction 23 following a crash earlier, Highways England says, external.

    A skull has been attached to one of the largest dinosaurs in the Dinosaurs of China exhibition at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.

    It will display 26 dinosaurs and fossils that arrived from China after a 50-day journey. Some fossils have never been displayed outside Asia.

    The collection will tell the story of how dinosaurs evolved into birds.

    Wollaton Hall has been closed for about two weeks while organisers put together the exhibition.

    It is expected to open on 1 July and run until 29 October.

    Police rescued a distressed dog from a hot car in Hinckley yesterday after the animal's plight was brought to their attention by a member of the public.

    A Nottinghamshire town councillor will star in a one-off Brexit special of Wife Swap.

    The Channel 4 reality show hasn't been on our screens for some time, but there will be a one-hour special tonight starring Kat Boettge - a councillor in Kimberley.

    German-born Kat will spend a week living with a UKIP supporting family in Canvey Island in Essex.

    Kat, who lives in Strelley, was also a candidate for the Green Party in the Nottingham East constituency in the general election.

    Firefighters will be visiting Derbyshire's only high rise block of flats this morning to reassure residents in the wake of yesterday's tragic events in London.

    From 11:30, people will be offered advice on what to do if fire breaks out at the 12-storey Rivermead House in Bath Street, Derby.

    Alex Johnson, area manager for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, said the building was inspected regularly and it fully complied with current fire safety regulations.

    She added it was important residents made themselves aware of their building's specific fire plan.

    A driver who was caught on camera assaulting another motorist has yet to be traced, police have said, external.

    Dashcam footage showed the man driving his BMW over the pavement to undertake and block a Renault Clio before reaching into the car's window to attack the driver.

    It happened in Blackbird Road in Leicester on 31 May. Police have now appealed for the public's help in identifying the man.

    A video has been released showing a van driver deliberately mowing down a group of pedestrians walking along a pavement in Leicester.

    Lugman Aslam, 26, of Warren View, Leicester, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and attempting to commit grievous bodily harm with intent on 28 June last year.

    Sentencing Aslam to five years in prison at Leicester Crown Court, Recorder Justin Wigoder said it was "quite remarkable" no-one had been seriously hurt or killed.

    Foie gras has been removed from the menu of a pub in Derbyshire following a campaign by animal activists.

    David and Samantha McHattie, who run The Bridge Inn in Calver, said protests and online opposition against their use of the food had amounted to "bullying".

    The production of foie gras - which is produced from livers of force-fed ducks or geese - is illegal in the UK, but it is still a legal ingredient.

    Mrs McHattie said: "The emotional toll was just too much. My sister has been abused, my mother, my 80-year-old father, and one of our customers has been called horrendous names and had photographs of her children posted on an animal activist website."

    Nottingham Animal Rights, one of the protest organisers, posted, external: "After a long campaign with the pub... activists have managed to get another establishment to see sense and remove the item.

    "We do not see this as a victory for us, but a victory for the poor defenceless animal involved."
