    Five people have been charged with possession, external of the formerly legal high known as "black mamba".

    Derbyshire Police said it followed an investigation triggered by the discovery of a significant quantity of a psychoactive substance during searches at two properties in Derby and Chaddesden in November.

    A 33-year-old woman and four males, aged between 26 and 17, have been charged with possession of a psychoactive substance, namely MMB-FUBINACA, with intent to supply.

    They are due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on 1 August.

    Ashfield's MP, Gloria de Piero, has rejoined Labour's front bench team.

    She resigned last year saying she didn't believe Jeremy Corbyn could deliver victory.

    Spanish football journalist David Martinez says the idea of Vincente Iborra joining Leicester City is a possibility.

    The Foxes have been heavily linked with the 29-year-old Sevilla captain, reportedly valued at £12m, over the past 48 hours.

  8. Dozens of job losses in library shake-uppublished at 08:50 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    Derby City Council said its proposed library shake-up would result in the loss of 46 posts - 39 library jobs and seven cleaning jobs.

    It said the plan was the most popular of four options presented in a consultation and, if approved by cabinet, would be implemented later this year.

    The 10 libraries earmarked to be managed by volunteers would be Chellaston, Sinfin, Chaddesden, Blagreaves, Allestree, Allenton, Mackworth, Spondon, Springwood and Derwent.

    The council would run Central Library (to be renamed Riverside LIbrary after its move), Local Studies Library, Alvaston, Pear Tree and Mickleover.

    The plan would also see the building currently housing Derby's Central Library handed to Derby Museums Trust.

    A man and three boys have been arrested in connection with a burglary after a police chase.

    Nottinghamshire Police arrested the group at Ruddington Grange Golf Club after a short pursuit from the Nottingham's Knight roundabout.

    A group of travellers have been evicted from Chaddesden Park following complaints about anti-social behaviour.

    Derbyshire Police said they had been monitoring the group for several days and had become concerned about damage being done to the land along with the dumping of glass and human waste.

    Supt Tracy Harrison said: "This is not acceptable and so we have removed the group from the park."

    Ten out of 15 libraries in Derby will be run by volunteers in the future, under new plans being proposed by the city council.

    The authority said the move would help it save nearly £650,000 from its budget and would mean none have to close.

    The council is also proposing to relocate Derby's Central Library from its current home on Wardwick to the ground floor of the Council House on Corporation Street.
