Broxtowe MP, Anna Soubry, has said we're living in "mad, unpleasant and disturbing times" after a man was sentenced yesterday for sending her and five other MPs offensive emails.

She was speaking after a 72-year-old man from Wolverhampton admitted sending racist and threatening emails to six MPs, including Ms Soubry and Loughborough MP Nicky Morgan.
The Conservative MP revealed she has also been sent social media posts which suggest she should be raped.

A 39-year-old man is due in court this morning over a stabbing in Nottingham.

Letf Rahman Miri, of Walton Avenue, Nottingham, is charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.
A 42-year-old man was stabbed at a property in Truman Close, St Ann's, at about 16:35 on Sunday.
He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment and is currently in a stable condition.
The common assault charge relates to another person.

A lorry carrying a digger was involved in the crash at Middleton Boulevard in Nottingham, according to Inrix Traffic.

Inspectors are en route to check the damage to the bridge (which you can see in this photo), according to Nottingham Travelwise, external.
It's causing severe traffic problems around the city.

A seven-year-old cat is recovering at home after being shot in the face with an air rifle.
Jess was found with a pellet wedged in her nose at the weekend in Scraptoft, near Leicester.

Owner Lynn Haddon said: "I thought initially it was a thorn... however on closer inspection I did notice it was metal. I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be an air rifle pellet.
"As soon as the vet saw her he said it was an air rifle pellet. I was in complete shock, I actually broke down in the vets."
She is now warning other cat owners in the area and believes there should be tougher ownership laws on air rifles.
A spokesman for the RSPCA backed calls for tighter regulation, adding: "Unfortunately, air rifle attacks are not as rare as we would like and the injuries caused by such attacks are horrific and often fatal."

Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Nottingham in which a 13-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were shot.
Both have been discharged from hospital with what police describe as "relatively minor injuries" following the shooting in St Ann's Well Road just after 16:00 yesterday.
These are the details we have about the arrests:
- A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and firearms offences
- A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon
- A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of Class B drugs
All three remain in custody.
In what police believe was a separate incident, police were called to a report of a firearm being discharged in Collison Street, Hyson Green, at around 22:45 yesterday.
A car was shot at but no one was injured.
Ch Supt Rob Griffin said: "Although these incidents will have been worrying for local residents we'd like to reassure them that incidents of this nature are rare in Nottinghamshire."

Residents of two blocks of flats in Derby have spent the night in emergency accommodation after a fire and explosion last night.
Around 40 firefighters tackled the blaze on the roof of a Derby apartment block, which broke out in the plant room of Norman House near Friar Gate at 16:30 yesterday.
A firefighter was slightly injured when a propane cylinder exploded.
Residents of Norman House and Saxon House spent the night in emergency accommodation.
The fire service said it will try to get people back home as soon as they're sure it's safe.
