    Police sprinted across a field to stop a JCB believed to have been stolen from a building site in Worksop.

    Officers chased the digger on foot when it diverted into the field after being pursued along the A60 yesterday.

    A 45-year-old man was subsequently arrested in suspicion of theft and remains in police custody, external.

    The finances of Derbyshire's NHS are "deteriorating", and health bosses say they're planning to reduce spending to the "lowest possible level".

    Most of the £51m of savings the county's NHS needs to make this financial year are still to be made, and some of those already underway aren't delivering.

    A report from Derbyshire's clinical commissioning groups claims they're trying to bring running costs down to the lowest safe level they can.

    Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha became owner of the Belgian second division football team OH Leuven last year.

    The club has issued a statement, external, the translation of which reads: "Our first thoughts go to the Srivaddhanaprabha family and the families of everyone on board the helicopter.

    "This is an unbelievable loss for the supporters of both clubs within King Power's football family.

    "Khun Vichai was not only a warm and humble man, but also very generous to everyone who crossed his path.

    "Although his journey with Oud-Heverlee Leuven was only just beginning, his vision for the club will be protected and executed.

    "Yesterday fans at the entrance to the home supporters of the King Power at Den Dreef Stadium have expressed their support for the families and friends of Leicester City.

    "Supporters who want to show their respect will be able to do this in a mourning register that will be opened shortly in the King Power at Den Dreef Stadium and will later be shared with the Srivaddhanaprabha family."

    The Air Accident Investigation Branch has said the digital flight data recorder from the crashed helicopter has been recovered.

    Inspectors took the device, which collects and records data from the aircraft, to a specialist facility in Farnborough last night.

    The AAIB has said: "It was subject to intense heat as a result of the post-accident fire."

    Currently the investigation team has inspectors looking at four key areas - engineering, operations, flight data and human factors.

    They are expected to be there until the end of the week. All the wreckage will then be taken to Farnborough for "more detailed examination".

    A fire in Ilkeston in which a six-year-old boy died is not believed to have been started deliberately, the fire service said.

    The boy died in hospital after being pulled from the blaze in Shaw Street West on Friday night.

    Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said investigations were ongoing but at this stage the fire was "not being treated as deliberate or malicious".

    It said firefighters and community safety officers would be providing fire safety advice and reassurance in the area where the fire happened over the coming week.

    Charnwood Borough Council says its Loughborough headquarters will be lit up in Leicester City colours this evening as a mark of respect following the fatal helicopter crash on Saturday.

    Derby County have released a statement saying they've settled their differences with former chief executive Sam Rush.

    The club was suing Mr Rush (pictured with Rams owner Mel Morris) for nearly £7m after he was dismissed for alleged gross misconduct in May 2017.

    Mr Rush had three years left on his contract when he was sacked. He wanted compensation for unfair dismissal and breach of contract.

    A short statement issued by the club, external says they've agreed terms, are now moving on with their lives and will make no further comment.
