    The Duke of Cambridge and President of the FA, Prince William, has said Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha will "be missed by all fans of the sport and everyone lucky enough to have known him."

    Following the confirmation of five deaths in the King Power Stadium helicopter crash, the Premier League has said tonight's match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City will be preceded by a minute's silence and players will wear black armbands.

    PL executive chairman Richard Scudamore said, external: "Vichai was a gentleman who graced the game with his civility and charm and we will miss him enormously.

    "His impact on Leicester - the football club and city - will be remembered for ever."

    Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has led tributes from players to the club's "dedicated and passionate" owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

    The Foxes stopper tweeted: "It is difficult to put into words how much you have meant to this football club and to the city of Leicester.

    "Your endless contribution to Leicester's hospitals and charities will never be forgotten. You went above and beyond. In every aspect."

    "You changed football. Forever!" Schmeichel added. "You gave hope to everyone that the impossible was possible, not just to our fans but to fans all over the world in any sport!"

    Investigations are continuing this morning into the cause of a fatal fire in Ilkeston in which a six-year-old boy died.

    The child was pulled from the blaze, at an end-terrace property in Shaw Street West at 22:30 on Friday but died in hospital.

    Rob Taylor, group manager for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, said it had been "a very difficult incident for the community and the crews to deal with".

    Leicester Tigers chairman Peter Tom has paid tribute to Leicester City chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others who died in Saturday's helicopter crash.

    In a statement released this morning, Mr Tom said: "Leicester remains the Sporting Capital and all of our clubs have enjoyed each other’s successes.

    "The football club’s remarkable Premier League title win in 2016 under Vichai’s ownership attracted unprecedented interest to the city from around the world and his commitment to the club has made a lasting contribution to the city and county."

    "On behalf of everyone at the Tigers, I send sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, to the families of all those lost in the crash and to everyone associated with the football club at this time."

    Police say they're keeping an open mind over whether there's any link between two reported stabbings in Nottinghamshire yesterday afternoon, external.

    A 15-year-old boy suffered non life-threatening stab wounds to his arm and back in Crabtree Road, Bulwell, at about 16:45.

    About 12 minutes later a man his 40s was taken to hospital from an undisclosed address in Hucknall, also with stab wounds to his arm and back.

    Two men, aged 23 and 41, were arrested last night on suspicion of affray and remain in police custody.

    Nottinghamshire Police said: "We are keeping an open mind as to whether both incidents could be linked."

    Leicester City club ambassador Alan Birchenall spoke to BBC Radio 5 live from outside the King Power Stadium this morning.

    He said: "I just had to come down early before I go to the training ground. I can only imagine what it's like.

    "I needed to see the tributes. My thoughts are just like every one in Leicestershire, whether you are a football fan or not, it's so sad and all the others in the helicopter... our thoughts go out to them.

    The 60-year-old chairman of duty-free company King Power International Group was the fourth richest man in the country with an estimated wealth of £2.8bn.

    He purchased Leicester City for £39m in 2010, cleared their debts and watched with joy as they stunned the football world by lifting the Premier League title six years later.

    Last night Leicester City confirmed owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was on board his helicopter when it crashed outside the King Power Stadium on Saturday night.

    The 60-year-old died along with four others: two members of his staff, Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare, and pilot Eric Swaffer and his partner Izabela Roza Lechowicz.
