    The leader of Nottingham City Council has joined colleagues from across the country in London today, to call for more funding to tackle air pollution.

    Jon Collins has been meeting Mayor of London Sadiq Khan - as well as representatives from Bradford and Liverpool.

    They want £1.5bn to encourage people to scrap polluting vehicles and use public transport.

    A gang has been jailed for a series of distraction thefts carried out over six months across Nottingham and West Bridgford.

    Anna-Marie Moiceanu (left), 26, Alina-Aretina Iancu, 26 and Marius Ion, 28, (pictured left to right) were jailed for 60, 54 and 46 weeks respectively at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday.

    Moiceanu had pleaded guilty to three counts of theft, four of fraud and one of conspiracy to commit theft or fraud.

    Ion and Iancu both pleaded guilty to two counts of theft and to one of fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

    Police say that the gang, all of Lamcote Grove, Nottingham, targeted elderly people, with Ion stealing money and items from their bags while the two women distracted them.

    If you get lost or hurt in the Peak District, you could soon find it's a flying robot that comes to find you.

    That's because Buxton's Mountain Rescue Team has become the first in the country to be granted permission by the Civil Aviation Authority to use drones in its searches.

    The "Drone Team" is eight-people strong and they have trained and bought the equipment with the help of local authorities, community groups and donors, who raised £10,000.

    A lucky escape...

    A car stopped on the side of the A38 near Alfreton last night after suffering a blowout to its front left tyre - only for a lorry to smash into its side.

    Derbyshire Police tweeted: "This is why we say try not to stop on dual carriageways or motorways but if you have to - get out and call 999."

    Police were called at 19:30 and are still looking for the driver of the lorry, who failed to stop.

    Nobody was injured in the crash.

    Six men were arrested today almost four months on from a fight outside the King Power stadium.

    The brawl kicked off after a Leicester City vs West Ham match in October and involved "a number of people".

    Three Leicester men, aged 29, 29, 48 and three London men, aged 21, 32 and 56, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remain in police custody.

    Today officers released CCTV of six more men they want to track down.

    A 25-year-old man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a house this morning.

    Police were called to the property in Western Lane, Buxworth at about 04:00 and found a woman, 77, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The man has been arrested in connection with her death and remains in custody.

    A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: "The investigation is in its early stages and officers remain in the area."
