    Trains across the East Midlands have been brought to a halt due a signalling failure.

    East Midlands Trains tweeted, external: "There has been a power supply failure which is affecting our network and the signalling system.

    "At present we are currently unable to run any trains in the East Midlands area."

    The failure means trains are currently unable to run between Nottingham, Derby and Leicester.

    A Nottinghamshire peer says the issue of anti-Semitism is an "existential threat" for the Labour Party.

    Lord Falconer has been asked to lead an internal review into widespread complaints - while the Equality and Human Rights Commission is considering whether Labour may have unlawfully discriminated against people because of their ethnicity and religious beliefs.

    Speaking to BBC Radio 4's World at One, Lord Falconer, Baron of Thoroton, said: "Us being characterised as anti-Semitic is an existential threat to the Labour Party."

    Lord Falconer said he will remain in the party, but respects MPs like Chris Leslie who have decided to leave.

    He said: "I completely understand and I have great sympathy with what some of them experienced.

    "I’m staying in the Labour Party because I am determined to do my bit to make it as good as it should be."

    A man who inflicted a "sustained and horrific" sex attack on a woman in her home while threatening to shoot her has been jailed for 19 years.

    Glen Roe, 45, smashed his way into the house in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, in the early hours of 2 August.

    He had previously been convicted at Nottingham Crown Court of two counts of rape, possession of an imitation firearm and making threats to kill.

    Judge Gregory Dickinson said he had "no appreciation of the harm you have done".

    A crash has damaged traffic lights in Hinckley this afternoon, leading to delays around the town centre.

    The two-car collision happened at 13:30 today on Lower Bond Street and one of the cars is awaiting recovery.

    Police say that nobody was injured in the crash.

    A dark coloured 4x4 reversed into a shop front yesterday in a burglary which saw thousands of pounds worth of clothes stolen.

    CCTV footage showed three people exit the car and enter Flannels clothing store in Halford Street, Leicester, and a white VW Golf also parked up shortly after midnight today.

    Police believe that clothing was put in the boot of the Suzuki, before the cars then drove the wrong way along Halford Street, into Market Place Street and continued along Friar Lane, then headed along the A47 before turning into Tudor Road.

    Concern is growing for a man who was reported missing from hospital this morning.

    Patrick Phillips, also known as Paddy, had been being treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary since 27 February but left at about 10:00 today, before he was discharged.

    It’s believed he was seen near Freeman’s Common, heading towards Aylestone Road at around 10:10.

    The burglary took place in Middle Close at about 00:30 on 26 February.

    One of those impressing has been playmaker James Maddison who has created more goalscoring chances than any other player in Europe's top five leagues, according to sports data site Opta.

    A large amount of clothing is believed to have been stolen after a car is believed to have driven into a shop front overnight.

    Police were called to Flannels in Halford Street, Leicester, shortly after midnight.

    Five people are believed to have been involved in the break-in.

    A cordon is still in place while police investigate.

    Severn Trent Water has been using taxi drivers to look at leaks, it's been revealed.

    The firm - which supplies water to much of the East Midlands - said it had deployed the drivers on about 50 small leaks "as a cheaper way to get live video footage" than using technicians.

    Images were sent to engineers back at base who dispatched the most appropriate teams to the job, it added.

    However, the GMB union said the water company's programme had "huge safety implications for customers, drivers, and the public at large".

    It said over two weeks there were about 50 incidents and customers had "not been impressed with the 'Virtual Fieldworker Programme'".

    The firm said it was reviewing the trial.

    Three more branches of Evans Cycles are to close this month as the chain approaches the end of a review process following its sale to Shirebrook-based Sports Direct.

    The three London stores are scheduled to close on 22 March, bringing the total number to eight.

    Steve Trowbridge, chief executive of Evans Cycles, said: "Where possible, we will redeploy staff based at these stores to other areas within the business."

    The number of store closures is significantly lower than was initially feared when Mike Ashley's Sports Direct bought the business last October.

    The retail tycoon said at the time that as many half of the 62 stores could close, threatening 600 jobs.

    She took part in the Kennel Club British Open event where she entered in the small category.

    Her owner Rachel Ward said she came second in the jumping round and first in the agility round and then won overall.

    Rachel and six-year-old Shimmer have been doing agility together for five years.

    She said: "She is not naturally motivated, not many mini schnauzers are, but with a lot of encouragement she is excelling. She is a super awesome dog at home and is only happy if she is near me."
