    A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a burning building in Leicester.

    A murder investigation was opened after Leah Fray, 27, was discovered by firefighters tackling a blaze at a property in Mere Road on Saturday night.

    Leicestershire Police said a 56-year-old man was arrested in Barwell yesterday evening in connection with her death.

    The force has renewed its appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

    Six people have been arrested following the death of a man found injured in a car park.

    The man was discovered near Chaddesden Park on Saturday and died soon after being taken to hospital.

    Derbyshire Police said two 19-year-old men and a 21-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    A 16-year-old girl, a 19-year-old man and a 26-year-old man had also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

    A 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder over the weekend has been released without charge.

    Investigations are continuing into a series of explosions and a fire that shut off part of Derby yesterday.

    At its height 45 firefighters tackled the blaze at a factory off Enterprise Way after a number of loud bangs were reported around lunchtime, caused by gas cylinders exploding.

    Nobody was injured at the factory, which produces rubber matting, but train services were disrupted by the large smoke flume and a number of roads were closed.
