    The Chilwell Retail Park branch of Poundland is among the next group of the chain's shops to reopen next week.

    The company confirmed another 26 of its stores that have been closed throughout the coronavirus outbreak will start trading again, which comes after 51 shops reopened last week.

    About 100 branches were temporarily shut in March, though many stayed open for essential shopping.

    Police in Leicestershire are appealing for information after a swan that was attacked by a dog had to be put down.

    The dog was seen attacking the bird at Hermitage Fishing Lake and Recreation Ground between Coalville and Whitwick on the morning of 19 May.

    Leicestershire Police said it's been in touch with the RSPCA and RSPB as part of its investigation, and is asking members of the public to come forward and help identify the dog's owner.

    A man has been charged after a break-in at a Sikh temple in Normanton and a stabbing at a corner shop.

    Derbyshire Police said they were called to reports the Guru Arjan Dev Sikh Gurdwara in Stanhope Street had been broken into on Monday morning.

    Minutes later, the force said they received a call to say a man had been stabbed inside the Polanica shop in Normanton Road.

    When officers arrived, a 41-year-old man was found with injuries. He was taken to hospital before later being discharged.

    A 31-year-old man is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court this morning charged with wounding with intent and burglary.
