    Police are investigating following the death of a man found lying on the ground.

    Emergency services were called to Slaughterhouse Lane, Newark, Nottinghamshire, shortly after 20:30 on Thursday.

    The man, in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Nottinghamshire Police said his death was currently being treated as unexplained.

    "We are working to understand the movements of the victim in the hours and minutes leading up to his death," Det Sgt Ricky Ellis said.

    "He is white and was wearing blue jeans and a dark-coloured checked shirt at the time of the incident."

    A man has been arrested after original military badges, gas masks and old Army uniforms were taken from an antiques store.

    Nottinghamshire Police said a staff member found items worth £300 had been taken overnight on 21 April from the shop in Leeming Street, Mansfield.

    This included cash from the register and limited edition coins.

    A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary on Wednesday, police added.

    Huge letters spelling out the word "England" have appeared on a Peak District hillside in support of the team as they prepare to face Ukraine in the quarter-finals of Euro 2020.

    The 30ft (9m) letters are made up of rocks and have been placed on a steep slope above Chelmorton, near Buxton.

    At the 2018 World Cup, residents painted the rocks so they could be seen for miles around.

    A farming family has decided to diversify by creating a natural wildflower burial site in a former arable field.

    Emily Goodson came up with the idea for the field at Easthorpe, near Bottesford, while studying environment and business at university.

    She said: "Farms need to diversify and when I heard about green burials I thought of this field.

    "It is one of our favourites and really popular with the villagers who walk here.

    "There will be benches and mowed paths but the rest will be left to wildflowers."

    Her mother Clair said they were surprised at first but then backed the idea.

    It has been granted planning permission and wildflower planting will start in August.

    A woman has been arrested after a man was deliberately run over with a car, police have said.

    Nottinghamshire Police were called to Bradfield Road, Broxtowe, at 00:50 yesterday after a man was seriously injured in a crash.

    The force said both of his legs were broken, and the driver fled the scene.

    A 24-year-old woman was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

    People in Nottingham will be able to see the first real Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton to be shown in England for more than 100 years from this weekend.

    The fossil, named Titus, found in the US state of Montana in 2018, has not been publicly displayed before and there are no genuine T. rex skeletons currently on show in the UK.

    The skeleton will be displayed as part of a new Titus: T. rex is King exhibition at Wollaton Hall, in Nottingham.

    Today a preview event was held, ahead of it opening to the public this weekend.

    The 4m (13ft) tall and 11m (36ft) long dinosaur, which was backed by £250,000 of Arts Council England funding, takes up all of the hall's main Willoughby Room.
