    There's been a picture doing the rounds on Facebook and Twitter of a man attempting to remove a tooth of one of the dead whales. 

    We haven't been able to verify the validity of the photo but the Chief Inspector responsible for operational policing across East Lindsey had this to say:

  2. Beating about the bush, 90-year-old man to meet with council over hedge disputepublished at 12:15

    Ninety-year-old Roy Dowson from Burton near Lincoln is meeting with county councillors this afternoon as part of an ongoing dispute over his garden hedge.  

    He's been told to cut back the Yew Tree hedge because it's partially blocking the pavement. 

    But Roy says cutting it would destroy it.

    The whales washed up on the coast at the weekend. A fourth was found a bit further south at Wainfleet yesterday, work's ongoing on how that will be dealt with.

    You're being asked to help find Amina Smith, who's gone missing from Bourne.

    She was last seen at the town's bus station yesterday afternoon, after school.

    Lincolnshire Police say she was expected home but did not return. She's 5ft 2ins tall and was wearing school uniform when she was last seen.

    These shocking pictures show what happens when fly-tippers find somewhere quiet to dump rubbish.

    A staggering 6.5 tonnes of rubbish was removed from this bridleway near Caistor.

  9. Wainfleet man falls victim to scampublished at 10:39

    Police are warning people to be careful after a man was scammed out of his money by fraudsters pretending to be from a loan company, external.

    Officers say victims get a call after looking online for a loan. The scammers say the loan has been approved but an upfront fee is required before the money can be released.

  10. Permissions 'in place' for whale removalpublished at 10:21

    Council bosses in charge of removing the carcasses of three dead sperm whales from Skegness beach say contractors will be brought in "in the next few days".

    East Lindsey District Council is responsible for removing the mammals - because of the risk to public health.

    A council spokesman said: "Whilst it is important the removal is done quickly, it’s also important it’s done properly and that’s the council’s focus."  

  11. Revised plans for Lincoln's £29m transport hub approvedpublished at 10:11

    The City of Lincoln Council has approved changes to plans for the new transport hub.

    Essentially the new bus station and the shopping area will be built in two phases.

    They're part of the Lincolnshire coast experience for many holidaymakers, but some beach huts are facing the chop.

    Chalets at Sutton on Sea have been condemned as unsafe by council chiefs, external but "must be saved" according to campaigners.

    I was on the coast yesterday and visitors said they didn't want them to go. 

    Councillor Steve Kirk from East Lindsey District Council says he's working with a voluntary group who have "exciting ideas" to take them on.

  15. Unexpected deaths reported by Lincolnshire's mental health trust more than doublepublished at 09:14

    A Freedom of Information request by the Liberal Democrats has revealed a sharp increase in unexpected deaths over the last few years.

    There were 29 reported last year compared with 13 across Lincolnshire three years ago.

    However the NHS is saying it's because there's more awareness of mental health problems.

    News broke yesterday that another whale had beached further south in Wainfleet, if you include the one that arrived in Norfolk last Friday the total is now five in the UK.
