    These taxi drivers in Lincoln say they're angry they've been told they now need to take a new course or risk not having their licence renewed. 

    The training includes health and safety, customer service, routes and fares. The qualification costs around £240 plus a loss of earnings.

    The City of Lincoln Council says it's committed to giving a high standard of service to the city's residents and visitors and the BTEC certificate brings it in line with other authorities.

  6. Emergency landing at Humberside Airport: Airline statementpublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    Eastern Airways which runs the aircraft that made an emergency landing earlier at Humberside Airport has issued a statement:

    A spokesman said: “The captain operating a charter flight EZE102 from RAF Marham to RAF Coningsby made a precautionary diversion to Humberside due to a cockpit warning indication relating to the nosewheel landing gear.

    “The Jetstream 41 aircraft with four passengers and three crew on board landed safely at 10:08 and passengers disembarked the aircraft as normal via the aircraft steps. 

    "We have launched an investigation and engineers will be inspecting the aircraft."

  8. Evacuated apartments in Grimsby: Some residents allowed back inpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    North East Lincolnshire Council says 57 residents at Victoria Mills apartments in Grimsby are to be allowed back in this afternoon.

    The block was evacuated yesterday afternoon because of concerns about stability of part of the building in high winds. The nearby A16 was also closed.

    A council spokesman said 13 flats would remain empty and those affected would be helped to find alternative accommodation.

    We're hearing that a plane with seven people on board has made an emergency landing at Humberside Airport.

    Eastern Airways says the flight was heading from RAF Marham in Norfolk to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire when a warning light indicated a landing wheel problem.

    It was diverted to Humberside - where an emergency response was prepared on the ground. 

    The plane landed safely just after ten this morning.

    Police are looking for a burglar who assaulted a pensioner during a raid at a gun club.

    Lincolnshire Police, external say the 69-year-old victim was attacked when he found a man in his late teens to early 20s raiding a shed yesterday afternoon.

    It happened at about 14:00 at the club in Ingoldmells Road, Burgh le Marsh, near Skegness.

    We've just heard from East Lindsey District Council about the cost of removing three whales from Skegness beach last week.

    The operation - which took place over about six hours last Wednesday night - cost the taxpayer £26,000.

    The council said the carcasses were expected to be sent to landfill, but in the end were sent to a rendering plant to be melted down.

    If you're planning to be out and about around Lincoln at the weekend watch out for roadworks on the bypass.

    A stretch of the A46 between the A15 Riseholme Road and the A158 Wragby Road will be closed from 07:00 to 17:00 on Sunday.
