    Two men have been arrested after police found 30 cannabis plants growing in a house in a raid this morning.

    Humberside Police say they found the plants, along with growing equipment, at an address in Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes.

    Officers say the action was taken as part of the force's ongoing Operation Impact against drugs and organised crimes.

    Entries are officially open, external for the Lincoln 10K road race - after a launch in the city's Castle Square yesterday.

    Organisers say it's the 20th year the race has been run and they're hoping a record number of people will take part.

    The event raises money for several local charities - including LIVES First Responders, St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

  3. Motorist robbed at knifepoint by two menpublished at 11:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2016

    A motorist's had his wallet stolen after the car in front forced him to stop on a road in Scunthorpe last night.

    Police say the victim was driving along Warren Road when a black Vauxhall Corsa in front of him braked suddenly.

    When he stopped, two men approached the car, threatened him with a knife and took his wallet. 

    They then threw his car keys under the car and escaped.

    Officers have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 101.

    I've just been talking to Philip Manser who's the organist and a bellringer at the church in Scothern, near Lincoln.

    It's one of just a few villages in the country which still upholds the tradition of ringing a bell to mark Pancake Day.

    Mr Manser says the tradition goes back to medieval times, when the bell was rung to call people in from the fields on Shrove Tuesday to confess their sins before Ash Wednesday.

    We're hearing that there may be another whale in trouble off the east coast. 

    The Humber coastguard says it's investigating the sighting off north Norfolk.

    An education trust that was forced to give up running one of Lincolnshire's newest secondary schools is facing further criticism from Ofsted today.

    The E-Act trust ran Gainsborough's Trent Valley Academy until two years ago when it was told by the education watchdog that standards were too low.

    Lincoln College has since taken over as sponsor of the Gainsborough school. 

    E-Act, which now runs 23 academies across England but none in Lincolnshire, says work's ongoing to improve its performance.

    Two men have been charged with carrying out an assault at a doctors' surgery in Lincoln city centre.

    Gareth Williams, 47, of St Rumbold Street, Lincoln, faces a charge of racially aggravated assault and assault by beating after the incident at the Newland Health Practice on 22 January.

    Another man Drew Fraser, 20, also of St Rumbold Street, has been charged with assault. 

    They've both been bailed to appear at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 14 April.

    We're hearing from Laura Nuttall from Sleaford this morning - she had to travel from Lincolnshire to Manchester for mental health care.

    She's telling her story after an independent report was released attacking the distances patients have to travel as a "scandal".

    Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers says he wants answers from ministers about progress on a renewable energy development on the south bank of the Humber.

    There'll be first-day nerves for Jack Pryor today as he takes charge of his first race meeting at Market Rasen racecourse.

    Jack's the new clerk of the course and is responsible for turf management, preparation, race programming, monitoring the going and ensuring that the track is in top condition.

    He says he's confident of a good day's racing - despite the going being soft to heavy because of recent rain. The first race of the day is at 14:00.
