• Lloyds Bank has announced its cutting another 3,000 jobs and will close another 200 branches by the end of the year. In Market Rasen Lloyds is the only bank left open after others shut their doors.  
• It's the first day of the Living Islam Festival being held at the Lincolnshire Showground today.
• Weeds in Lincoln's Brayford have foiled a world record attempt by Guy Martin.
• Lincoln is to get a market run entirely by teenagers this autumn
• A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a 16-year-old girl from Marston in Lincolnshire.

A teenagers' market set up for young traders will become a regular attraction in Lincoln.

Bishop Grosseteste University will run the market in Lincoln's Cornhill from October this year.

It follows a similar market organised by the Sleaford Town Team which saw 20 traders from as far as Oakham.

Clare Rayner, chair of Sleaford Town Team, said: "This is something we simply haven’t got the funds to achieve, so we couldn’t be happier to see this development as it will inevitably make a huge difference to the teenage traders."

The trust in charge of the Brayford in Lincoln say it will be dredged to remove the weeds that hampered Guy Martin's world record attempt.

A number of issues, including the warm weather, meant the weeds are out of control and the machine used to cut them back does not go deep enough.

David Rossington from the Brayford Trust says: "There are still massive weeds close to the bottom, they can only be taken out by dredging."

Speed freak Martin was trying to set a new record for the fastest human- powered water vessel.

His Facebook page says: "Owing to problems with weed in Brayford Pool, Guy's water speed world record attempt will unfortunately no longer be taking place today. 

"Guy would like to say 'ta for the support, I look forward to having another crack at it down the line.'

Police are appealing for witnesses following the alleged assault of a 17-year-old girl from Grimsby.

The victim suffered a cut to her face and bruising in the incident which is believed to have taken place on Freshney Place at about 19:00 on Tuesday.

We've been told that security is at a "completely different level" at this year's Living Islam Festival in Lincolnshire which gets under way today.

Thousands of Muslim and non-Muslim families are expected to attend the four-day event at the Lincolnshire Showground.

Speaking from the event, Ashley Peatfield, editor of Religion and Ethics for the BBC, says the last few months in particular have been difficult for the Muslim community.

He said: "There is a sensitivity in the Muslim community and part of that is because they would quite rightly point out that the kind of atrocities we've been seeing in France have got nothing to do with them, it's someone else making an association with their faith.

"You come to an event like this and you look at what these people are doing and talking about and what they're about is running lives in an ordinary way."

On security, he added: "Security's on a completely different level from what it was three or four years ago, and of course there is security here, it's not something you're immediately conscious of, but inevitably they do all the checks that everyone has to do when putting on a big event like this."

The futures of staff at nine more Lincolnshire banks are in the balance after Lloyds announced it is slashing 3,000 more jobs. 

Two branches in Lincoln and seven more in North Hykeham, Market Rasen, Alford, Coningsby, Horncastle, Mablethorpe and Louth are caught up in the uncertainty over the banking group's future. 

Market Rasen Town Councillor, Ken Bridger, says he will fight to save the Lloyds - the last bank in the village.

A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a 16-year-old girl from Marston in Lincolnshire. 

Hannah Pearson was found unconscious in Newark early on Sunday morning. She died at hospital. 

James Morton, who's 23 and from Pierson Street in Newark, was remanded in custody at a hearing at Nottingham Crown Court. 

He'll appear again in September.

Banking group Lloyds has accelerated its job-cutting scheme, axing a further 3,000 posts.

It has also doubled its planned branch closures, with 200 more set to vanish from High Streets by the end of 2017, although we don't know yet how many of those will be in our region.

A man charged with the murder of a woman whose body was discovered at a Skegness flat last week has been remanded in custody. 

Twenty-eight-year old Lenuta Ioana Haidemac lived in Lincoln but was last seen after being dropped off on Drummond Road in Skegness at about 22:00 on Wednesday. 

Her body was found two days later in a flat on the road. 

Casey Scott, 29, of Drummond Road, spoke only to confirm his name at his four-minute hearing at Lincoln Crown Court.
