    An animal rights charity claims building a large pig farm in Lincolnshire - will lead to brutal suffering of animals. 

    There are plans for a farm near Upton which would house up to 2,000 pigs inside two indoor units. Animal Aid say they've helped 7,500 people object to the proposals - who think it's inhumane.

    The developer says it's being designed as a "high welfare unit".

  3. Police launch new text service to report hare coursingpublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 2 September 2016

    We've been talking a lot about hare coursing today and yesterday with relaunch of the police crackdown and the plans to bring in new technologies to fight the crime.

    Along with drones Police have told us they've introduced a new text service which lets people report the crime from their mobile phone without ringing 999.

    Users can text the word ‘Hare’ to 80800 followed by additional information, such as vehicle registrations.

    A developer's announced plans for a new £100 million designer outlet village in Grantham. 

    There are hopes to build 130 shops which could create 1500 jobs. South Kesteven District Council say it's aware of the plans. 

    No formal application for planning permission has been made yet though.

    A lorry has broken down on the Riseholme Roundabout, where the A15 meets the A46, just north of Lincoln. 

    It's not blocked the road entirely but traffic is slow in the area so allow some extra time.

    Lincolnshire farmers are calling on the courts to impose tougher penalties on hare-coursers. It's when dogs are set to chase a hare and often people put bets on it. Hare coursing has been illegal since 2005. 

    Police in the county have been working with neighbouring forces to tackle the growing problem and yesterday relaunched Operation Galileo, the crackdown scheme. In the last year - 176 people have been arrested or reported.

    A mobile cinema has been visiting some of the more isolated villages in Lincolnshire. Blue-print Film foundation's secured funding for "Flix in the Stix". 

    The latest films or classics are shown on a big screen at eight village halls and community centres.
