    Students who've signed up to a new air and defence college in Lincoln will be treated to a flypast at an official launch later.

    Lincoln College's Air and Defence Career College will hold a matriculation ceremony this afternoon at the campus on the city's Monks Road this afternoon.

    The firm that faces prosecution after the death of a Red Arrows pilot has reiterated its commitment to safety in a statement this morning.

    Martin-Baker made the ejector seat which fired while Flt Lt Sean Cunningham was still on the ground in November 2011.

    The firm says it has been made aware of the Health and Safety Executive's intention to prosecute. If it is s found guilty of breaching Health and Safety law it could be given an unlimited fine.

    Its statement says: "The company has not yet received the summons related to this incident and is consequently unable to comment more at this time.

    "With more than 17,000 seats in service in 92 countries and 52 aircraft types, Martin-Baker is dedicated to providing the safest ejection seats for aircrew worldwide."

    Dong Energy will meet people in North East Lincolnshire today to show off its plans for a new renewable energy hub due to be built in Grimsby.  

    The planned facility will be large and will service the offshore windfarms at Westernmost Rough, Race Bank and Hornsea Project One.

    There's been more support today for Lincolnshire's chief constable after he highlighted concerns about officers having to take patients to hospital because there aren't enough ambulance staff. 

    And the chairman of the Lincolnshire police federation, which represents rank and file officers, says it's nothing new.

    Jon Hassall says it's down to widespread lack of funding for our blue light services.

    The chief constable Neil Rhodes says he backs EMAS but now plans to track the number of times his officers have to help out ambulance crews.

    A village in North Lincolnshire could have the third-largest onshore oil production site in the UK. 

    Egdon Resources has submitted a planning application to North Lincolnshire Council seeking to extract 500 barrels of oil a day from the village of Wressle, near Brigg. 

    If they get approval, there will only be two on-shore sites producing more oil.

  9. Serco teachers' salary problems: People 'in tears'published at 08:54 British Summer Time 27 September 2016

    We've been hearing from the school where staff have gone unpaid this month after private company Serco failed to get their salaries right.

    Paula Coleburn from Bishop King Primary School in Lincoln says she's seen "grown people in tears".

    Ms Coleburn has been in the studio at BBC Radio Lincolnshire with Abi Tierney, the woman who's responsible for Serco's £70m contract to run Lincolnshire County Council's finances.

    Ms Tierney told Mrs Coleburn the company is "working as quickly as possible to to fix the problems with pay. 

    "We know it is unacceptable."

    The A15 is closed in both directions near Cranwell this morning. It's shut between the B1191 junction and the B1429 Sleaford Road junction, because of an accident and fallen telegraph pole. A diversion's in operation - via the A153 and the B1188 .
