    Some fish cakes produced in Grimsby are being withdrawn from sale after being found to be contaminated with small pieces of hard plastic and potentially small pieces of metal.

    Grimsby-based Young's Seafood is recalling packs of its 'Young’s Chip Shop Fish Cakes 6 Pack'.

    The packs being recalled are from a batch "where a small number of the fish cakes were found to have been contaminated with small pieces of hard plastic and potentially small pieces of metal".

    Only Fish Cakes with production codes AAL 7209K, AAL 7209L, AAK 7222J & AAL 7222K are said to be affected.

    Customers are advised no to eat the product and are being asked to call 0800 496 8647 or email care@youngsseafood.co.uk, external for advice on refunds.

    A memorial has been unveiled at Boston Pilgrim Hospital for those who've donated their organs to help others.

    The bronze sculpture tree has plaques featuring the names of donors on the branches.

    The Bishop of Grantham unveiled the sculpture with families of those who have donated organs.

    It's hoped the sculpture will encourage more people to sign up to the Organ Transplant register.

    Imps Manager Danny Cowley and his brother Nicky are joining forces to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

    The brothers will go head-to-head as captains for a panel game show Cowley v Cowley: Battle of the Imps, external at the Engine Shed on Monday 19 March.

    The money raised will go to St Barnabas Hospice, Lincs2Nepal and Imps in the Community.

    Switching off street lights during the night across Lincolnshire is unpopular with the public, a survey has revealed.

    Three quarters of the 5,300 people who responded to the survey said it is having a bad impact.

    A quarter said they thought there was no impact or the change had been positive.

    The county council is working through a review of its policy to switch-off 42,000 lights overnight.

    Some people registered an increased fear of crime, others feared the impact on road safety.

    Employers and training providers will be on hand to offer career advice and support at two jobs fairs in Lincolnshire today.

    There's one happening in Boston at the Peter Paine Performance Centre and one in Lincoln at the Assembly Rooms in the Bail.

    Stagecoach East Midlands is running a free bus to and from the County Assembly Rooms for those attending the fair.

    Businesses in Lincoln are making the switch from plastic straws to biodegradable ones.

    It's part of Lincoln Friends of the Earth, external's Straw Free campaign, which is encouraging restaurants and bars to reduce their carbon footprint and plastic waste.

    So far, many businesses have got on board and made the switch.

    A photography exhibition which aims to get people to recognise the signs of modern slavery and exploitation opens in Lincoln this weekend.

    Invisible People is part of the National Crime Agency's (NCA) campaign to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking.

    The NCA has teamed up with photographers to expose the realities of life in modern slavery through a series of large freestanding cubes with images.

    The free exhibition can be viewed at Lincoln's Cornhill on Saturday and Sunday.

  10. Lincolnshire bus service cuts cause rural isolationpublished at 08:00

    There are concerns that cuts to bus services in Lincolnshire are causing rural isolation.

    New BBC data shows there's been a huge drop in the number of miles travelled on buses in Lincolnshire.

    There are almost three million miles fewer bus journeys made now than there were in 2014.

    Bus campaigner Dick Fowler says it's cutting the service back to something that's only useful for older people as a shopping service:

    A 19-year-old woman, who was involved in a crash on the A46 north east of Lincoln earlier in the month, has died.

    Gemma Marshall was a passenger in the car which crashed at Welton on Saturday 3 February.

    The teenager from Rotherham was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, along with the driver, with serious injuries.

    She died in hospital on Tuesday.

    Private wardens are being brought in across North East Lincolnshire to tackle irresponsible dog owners who don't clean up after their pets.

    The authority says it'll mean their staff can focus on more serious problems like fly-tipping and rogue traders.

    The wardens will work seven days a week handing out fines to people who let their dogs foul in public places, without picking up after them.

    A High Court judge has ordered UKIP to pay some of the legal costs for the Yorkshire MEP Jane Collins over a libel case against her.

    Jane Collins was successfully sued for libel by Rotherham's three Labour MPs.

    It's not clear how much of the £670,000 bill the party will have to pay.

    Mr Justice Warby said UKIP, for party political reasons, deliberately held up the settlement of the High Court defamation case until after the 2015 general election.

    The RMT union has announced there's to be another 24-hour strike on Northern Rail on Saturday 3 March.

    It's part of an ongoing dispute over the role of the guard and driver-only operation.
