    A new plan to put mental health nurses in Lincolnshire Police's force control room has saved hundreds of hours of officers' time, the force says.

    Since specialist advisers arrived in July last year, over 200 fewer mentally unwell people have been detained by police.

    The 12-month pilot scheme has cost £60,000 from the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner's budget.

  2. Attempted murder arrest after women injured in Imminghampublished at 09:00 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2018

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two women were injured, one seriously, in Immingham.

    Police say officers aren't looking looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, which happened on Sunningdale Drive on Monday.

    Both women are being treated in hospital and officers say they don't believe there was any danger to the wider public.

  3. Driver dies after collision with buspublished at 08:28 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2018

    A car driver was killed and a bus driver was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A158 near Horncastle.

    It happened at about 16.00 on Monday at Thunkers Hollow, near Horncastle, when a Ford Focus was involved in a crash with a double decker Stagecoach bus on the A158.

    The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the bus was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

    There were 10 passengers on board the bus, seven of whom were slightly injured.

    The mayor of Boston has been told to resign by fellow councillors after a row over comments on his Facebook page.

    Members of Boston Borough Council overwhelmingly backed a vote of no confidence in Brian Rush at a meeting last night.

    Councillor Rush is accused of making unacceptable remarks on the social media platform.

    Councillors voted by 21 votes to two to call for him to resign.

    Cars were keyed and tyres slashed in Crowland near Spalding at the weekend.

    The incidents happened on West Street, Broadway and Peterborough Road.

    A 19-year-old has been treated in hospital after being attacked in Lincoln.

    Police say it happened as he walked home around 01:00 on Saturday morning.

    Officers are asking anyone who was near Uffington Avenue with the junction of Spanby Drive around that time and who may have seen something to get in touch.

    Some pharmacists in our area say they fear they could go out of business because they claim the NHS doesn't always refund the full cost of some medicines.

    Prices of many common drugs have been rocketing because of problems with supply.

    BBC Look North's Health Correspondent Vicky Johnson has been to speak to one chemist in Grimsby.

    He says he's having to subsidise the cost of some prescriptions by hundreds of pounds each month.

    The sentencing of an ejection seat manufacturer who admitted breaching a health and safety law resulting in the death of a Red Arrows pilot is underway and is expected to take several days.

    Thirty-five year old Flt Lt Sean Cunningham died when his ejection seat was activated during pre-flight checks at RAF Scampton in 2011.

    Martin Baker Aircraft Company Limited pleaded guilty to the health and safety charge.

    A 20-year-old man from Mansfield has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run in Lincoln at the weekend.

    A man and a woman were taken to hospital after being struck by a car on West Parade in the early hours of yesterday morning.

    Callum Payne, from Bracken Hill, is charged with driving without due care and while over the alcohol limit.

    He's also charged with failing to stop after the crash.
