    Two men have been arrested in connection with a burglary in Boston.

    It's in relation to an incident in South Terrace at about 07:00 this morning.

    Police said a number of items were taken during the break-in including a box of jewelry.

    The two men, aged 43 and 20, are being questioned by officers.

    The organisation responsible for the protection of people's personal information online is investigating a major data breach at a Lincolnshire council, it's been confirmed.

    The move comes after East Lindsey District Council posted personal details of candidates applying to be the authority's new chief executive on its website.

    The document containing those details has since been removed from the authority's site.

    The Information Commissioner's Office says it's aware of an incident and will assess the information provided.

    Pupils and teachers at Monks Abbey School in Lincoln are having a special day called #WilliamRocks to celebrate the life of William Coy.

    The School Council has planned a day to remember William, including wearing bright colours, a performance by the choir and lots of art.

    Donations will also be collected for the paediatric critical care unit at Queen's Medical Centre.

    Gambling adverts should be banned from television until after 21:00, according to a Lincolnshire MP.

    John Hayes, Conservative MP for South Holland and the Deepings, says adverts during big sporting events could encourage young people into gambling.

    Earlier this week, the Gambling Commission said the number of children with a gambling problem has quadrupled to 50,000 in the past two years.

    The government says it has strict rules to prevent betting firms from advertising to children.

    Developers want to transform a supermarket in Lincoln into a new snooker club, bar and restaurant.

    The proposals by Mr Dana Omar would see a two-storey extension built onto the Super Lincs shop on the High Street .

    Two semi-detached homes at the rear of the building would also be built as part of the plans.

    The proposals have been submitted to City of Lincoln Council.

    Today marks the official opening of Siemens' new rail service centre in Lincoln.

    The engineering giant has spent about £8m on the maintenance site on Waterside South.

    The centre's been operational for several months and today's event is a formal opening.

    Lincoln's Labour MP Karen Lee will be there, along with some of the firm's customers including Eurostar.

    Engineers at the centre service bogies, the undercarriage of a train, and wheelsets for Siemens trains operating in the UK.

    Managers plan to take on another 40 rail technicians by the end of next year.

    About 1,500 people work for Siemens, which continues to be the city's largest private employer.

    This year's BBC Sport Unsung Hero Award for our region has been won by a volunteer from a disabled riding group near Grantham.

    Since 2014, she's helped provide 3,500 riding sessions and also started The Silver Hour, special riding lessons for elderly care home residents.

    The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust say financial pressures mean its had to increase charges for patients and visitors by an average of 10 pence an hour.

    A Hull MP is calling for tolls to use the Humber Bridge to be completely scrapped and motorists allowed to travel free.

    Charges were halved across the Humber earlier this year, with the number of journeys subsequently increasing by more than a third.

    Meanwhile, motorists will be allowed to travel free on the Severn Crossing from next month.

    The Labour MP for Hull North, Diana Johnson, has told the House of Commons it's time to make the Humber crossing free.

    She said: "It's the right time to scrap the Humber Bridge tolls once and for all."

    Lincoln City Football Club is teaming up with the city council to promise better parking for fans.

    Supporters will now be able to leave their vehicles at Tentercroft Street car park, or any other City of Lincoln Council car park, at a special discounted rate.

    The offer can only be accessed by buying parking through the PayByPhone smartphone app, the council says.

    A Lincolnshire police officer has been sacked after refusing to provide a drugs test.

    PC Lewis Jackson, who was based in Gainsborough, was asked to take the test last month after his colleagues suspected a change in his physique was down to anabolic steroid use.

    PC Jackson refused to take the test despite being told he would then be treated as if he'd failed it, a special hearing at Lincolnshire Police's HQ heard.

    He resigned the following day.

    The officer admitted breach of conduct but claimed he'd never used steroids and had only resigned because he feared "snide remarks" from his colleagues.

    Chief Constable Bill Skelly dismissed PC Jackson without notice.

    The Leader of North Kesteven District Council, Richard Wright, said a new facility was "much needed".

    A man and a woman have died following a collision in Rutland yesterday evening.

    They died at the scene of the two-car crash on the A1 in Tinwell at 17:10 after the Citroen C3 they were in collided with a Kia Sportage.

    The driver of the Kia sustained minor injuries and was taken to Peterborough Hospital for treatment.

    The A1 was closed for 10 hours while police carried out enquiries and opened in the early hours of this morning.
