    Hospital managers in Lincolnshire will spend up to £20,000 registering EU nationals to work in the UK ahead of Brexit.

    After March all citizens from EU countries will have to have applied for "settled status" which is expected to cost £65 for an adult.

    United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust say it needs to register 300 EU staff to maintain essential services.

    The Environment Secretary, Michael Gove, has told a farming conference today that the UK's withdrawal from the EU will present a "world of opportunity" for British agriculture.

    Mr Gove has also pledged further investment in farming to try to ease fears among farmers ahead of Brexit.

    Lincolnshire farmer, Matthew Naylor, is one of the directors of the conference and says they've got a few worries:

    Three teenagers on bikes are reported to have attacked a man in Humberston before taking his wallet and riding off.

    It happened just after 21:00 yesterday on Scouts Lane.

    The boys are all described as being about 16-years-old.

    Two of them are said to have been wearing dark coloured tracksuits, with the third in a brightly coloured jacket.

    Anyone with information about the attack, or who may have seen what happened, is being asked to contact police.

    Administrative errors were to blame for the majority of hospital operations which were cancelled in Lincolnshire last year.

    That's according to information revealed as part of a Freedom of Information request.

    It revealed nine operations were called off every day in the county on average.

    Matthew Frost, from Scopwick, who had his minor operation for a blocked saliva gland cancelled four times in the last month, says it's getting frustrating:

    Work should start on the second phase of Grantham's southern relief road later this year, according to highways engineers.

    A public inquiry into the project took just a few hours yesterday after all objections to the scheme were withdrawn.

    A report will now be sent to the government to give the final go-ahead.

    Lincolnshire County Council's former chief executive has been awarded an OBE.

    Keith Ireland, who suddenly stepped down from the role in November after just four months, was one of those featured in the Queen's New Years honours.

    At the time of his departure from the job, a joint statement from council leader Martin Hill and Mr Ireland said the pair "did not share the same approach".

    Mr Ireland was recognised for his work at City of Wolverhampton Council.

    Investigators say there will be a "visible police presence" in Kirton, near Boston, today following a fatal house fire on New Year's Day which killed three people.

    Two men aged 24 and 32 and a woman aged 27 were killed in the blaze on Pear Tree Road. Two others have been released from hospital.

    Police say they've launched a domestic-related murder investigation and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the fire.

    A Lincolnshire charity hopes to get a new year boost of thousands of pounds by collecting Christmas trees.

    Staff from St Barnabas Hospice in Lincoln, which gives free, specialist palliative care to people across the county, will pick up old trees on 12 January in return for a donation.

    It's one of several charities to raise funds in this way.

    St Barnabas events fundraiser Laura Stones says: "The collection raises about £10,000 each year and it's absolutely crucial we keep on doing this.

    "Fund-raised income pays for two out of every four people we see, so it's massive to us."
