Caz Graham visits Matt's farm as the daffodil harvest is about to start, and finds out about Matt's own rural up-bringing and his hopes for the future. She also discovers how you run a flower-growing operation producing 75 million stems a year.

  17. Campaigner's concerns over hospital changespublished at 09:57 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2019

Campaigners claim people will die if planned changes to Grantham's hospital go ahead.

    hopspitals

Yesterday the trust which runs Lincolnshire's hospitals outlined plans for the future of healthcare in the county.

It included downgrading Grantham's A&E by turning it into an Urgent Treatment Centre.

Plans also revealed that Boston's children ward will continue as an emergency assessment ward, with those needing to be admitted onto a ward being taken to another larger hospital.

Health bosses have said that "no body will die as a result of these changes".

They say that "extensive evidence" shows that if you've got a serious critical problem you should be taken to be treated by those with expertise - which aren't always at smaller hospitals.

    Campaigners aren't convinced.

    Quote Message

People at the most severe level of illness are currently having their lives saved at this unit but that will go if these plans go ahead."
